We started to walk a steep path into the mountains on the westside of Limnos. We followed a steep trail uphill for about half an hour, winding through the rocky landscape. Along the way, we were rewarded with beautiful views over the Aegean Sea. Suddenly we saw a white cross standing on the highest peak — and there was the cave where the small blue-and-white chapel was hidden. This church has existed since the 13th century, built by monks beneath an enormous rock face. It has no roof; symbolically, the sky itself forms the ceiling. No decoration, no tourist crowds — only stone, air, and meaning. An elderly man was sweeping the open-air chapel with a broom, clearing away the dust the wind had blown inside. He tidied everything, greeted us, and quietly walked away. Then we were alone — that’s how peaceful it is here. I found it one of the most special places I have seen in Greece. We flew with our drone around the cave and the surrounding mountains, while you can see the 13th century open air church in white and blue colors.

When boats commit to race in the St. Francis Yacht Club's Rolex Big Boat Series in September, they know its a four race commitment in the big winds of San Francisco Bay. For these classic boats it means everyone on board will be feeling the effects of racing in those conditions. The positive side is being part of a team that knows what an accomplishment it is just to finish the series.

Soon assembly of the dinghy will start. This week Mark makes the patterns for the side frames and cuts the frames from white oak. Also the bow and stern transoms are glued up. Mark needs to get to the dentist, so renting a car is the best option to get there. We chose the cheapest option, which means the rental company gets to pick what we drive. We end up with a black convertible Mustang! We enjoy driving through the Annapolis valley, one of Nova Scotia’s farming areas. We carry on to Cape Forchu and Yarmouth before heading home. We end the video with a short recap of Marks return trip from Bermuda to Canada.

Kampen mot Försäkringskassan och att stå upp för våra rättigheter har varit en riktig energitjuv i 2års tid. Jag har i alla samtal känt på mig att det kommer bli en kamp, bevisbördan ligger hos oss hela tiden att visa att vi har rätt till socialförsäkring i Sverige. Försäkringskassan har till och med ifrågasatt om vår segelbåt som är med i Svenska fartygsregistret faktiskt är ett fartyg? En segelbåt är tydligen inget fartyg det är ju en segelbåt! Och de har blandat in så många konstiga resonemang i besluten som ej går att hitta i socialförsäkringsbalken så jag blir matt ju mer jag grottar ner mig i detta. Jag ringde Försäkringskassan säkert 50 gånger när vi planerade detta men jag fick olika svar varje gång men lade pusslet bit för bit och skickade in en anmälan om flytt utomlands. Vi blev socialförsäkrade till en början men sen nekades hela familjen socialförsäkring. Det beslutet har vi omprövat utan att de ändrade sitt beslut. Men hittade sedan en blankett som vi fyllde i som gjorde att både jag och Niklas blev socialförsäkrade. Observera att INGA uppgifter har ändrats, vi har alltid fört samma resonemang till Försäkringskassan och de kunde inte upplysa oss om denna extra blankett även om jag vid flertalet tillfällen frågat vad vi ska göra för att fortsatt omfattas av svensk socialförsäkring. Nu är det bara barnen som inte är socialförsäkrade, vilket är rätt konstigt när båda deras föräldrar är det. Så de befinner sig i ett otillåtet vakuum nu sedan sex månader tillbaka. Kanske finns det en blankett jag ska fylla i för dem så de vipps blir socialförsäkrade? Tips mottages gärna 😅 Nu är iallafall överklagan inskickad, ett välskrivet dokument på 36 sidor 😆 och jag tänker släppa detta för tillfället. Jag har ju kanske 12månader på mig innan jag behöver tänka på detta igen 🤣 Nu är det upp till Sverige att visa vad vi går för 🇸🇪

jag märker att man måste starta ett krig mot myndigheterna för att få igenom sina rättigheter. Jag har överklagat till förvaltningsdomstolen för att få ett beslut i frågan. Ärendet har nu gått tillbaka till Försäkringskassan där de fått i uppgift att ompröva ärendet med hänsyn till EU-reglerna. Något som jag påtalat för dem sedan dag ett men man ska tydligen behöva gå hela vägen till domstol och tillbaka för att Försäkringskassan ska ta till sig av den informationen. (Fick beslut från Förvaltningsrätten idag). Känns som de medvetet förhalar allt för att vi ska ge upp och inte orka stå upp för våra rättigheter längre.

We set out to cross the Red Sea from north to south knowing this stretch of water carries real risk. Active pirate alerts were being reported as we approached the high-risk zone near Yemen — and right in the middle of it all, we experienced the best fishing of our entire voyage. Fish after fish hit our lines while tension quietly built on the horizon. Mid-crossing, a piracy distress signal came through directly along our heading. Excitement and uncertainty collided as we pushed south, balancing vigilance with the unbelievable abundance around us. This passage was a reminder of how unpredictable life at sea can be — equal parts adrenaline, beauty, and raw adventure. Gitana 18 is the trimaran which has been designed and built to take the great offshore records, including the Jules Verne Trophy for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe, to another world. The crowds were out in force on Saturday 14th February 2026 to catch a glimpse of this incredible machine as it was wheeled out of the yard and towards the awaiting crane to put her into the water. The innovations are massive on this yacht, and it has the potential to take the Ultim class to a whole new level of speed, so the anticipation of seeing the yacht sailing in the next few weeks, once they’ve added and tested the rest of the systems, is huge. At 32 metres long and 23 metres wide, Ultim trimarans always look extraordinary, but there is something other-worldly about Gitana 18. The aerodynamics have been taken to the next level and the graphics, which will look even more striking with the rig, are fantastic. The 38-metre-tall mast was then gently escorted along the dock and stepped in the yacht, marking a milestone in this three-year project. The main foils have to be fitted while the yacht is in the water and are just one of the processes that needs to be completed as she’s carefully commissioned. Dancing, Partying, Skirts, Sextant, Walk, Comment & Questions Spring is coming and we bounce into action by partying at some local lounges, dancing together and with others. OK., maybe a little too much partying! Karen and Steve clear their heads the next morning by taking a nice long walk and breathing in some fresh air. On the way, they encounter an unusual plant that seems to keep a party beat on its own. Redundancy is a key player to safety on a sailboat. For navigation, some of our tools include the Garmin Chartplotter with GPS, Ritchie compass and now, Steve is developing another navigation skill. He explains and is still learning how to use the Davis MK 25 sextant. Karen shares a few comments for this week's episode for some cockpit conversation. Listen and see if your comment is mentioned. 21 jours de navigation au cœur de l’Atlantique commencent… avec ce mélange d’excitation, d’inconnu et d’intensité qu’on ne peut pas tricher en mer. On quitte les îles Canaries avec un vent léger, juste ce qu’il faut pour permettre à l’équipage de s’amariner en douceur et trouver son rythme pour cette grande traversée océanique. À bord du catamaran Bali 4.6, la vie s’organise rapidement : quarts de nuit de 3 heures, équipes bien définies, et l’heure du bateau comme seule référence pour éviter les pièges des fuseaux horaires en pleine mer. La routine de navigation s’installe… mais chaque journée réserve son lot de surprises. Entre les premiers couchers de soleil sur l’Atlantique, une mer calme, les rencontres magiques avec les baleines et les dauphins, et les premières lignes à l’eau pour la pêche au large, l’aventure prend une dimension bien réelle. On partage les attentes, les blagues, les moments de fatigue et surtout cet esprit de camaraderie unique qui se crée lorsqu’on vit ensemble en mer pendant plusieurs semaines. In this episode Colin describes his new fuel polishing system that he designed, after getting a bad dose of diesel bug in one of our fuel tanks. We also start to rebuild the hulls of the boat after grinding out all of the blisters that we found when we hauled out. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing through Asia and planning to cross the Indian Ocean!!
