Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** Cruisers who actually have sailed through the Maldives are pretty rare. So since we spent 8 weeks there, we figured we'd share 10 thoughts about what it's like to sail in the Maldives. We'll talk about everything from Formalities to Sailing Conditions and from Provisioning to our Favorite Anchorages. Hopefully this will help be an intro guide to cruising the Maldives! Here's more information about the (hopeful!) reduction of fees in the Maldives: https://www.noonsite.com/news/maldives-becoming-more-cruiser-friendly/ If you're interested in a specific topic in the video, you can jump to the discussion here: 00:34 - Formalities 06:02 - General Anchoring and Navigating 08:42 - Our Favorite Anchorages in the Maldives 12:10 - Where We Wish We'd Gone 12:42 - Where We Wouldn't Go Back To 13:58 - Sailing Conditions in the Maldives 15:02 - Snorkeling & Diving 16:34 - Provisioning 17:39 - Medical Care 18:36 - Internet Access 19:32 - Wrap Up There's a lot more information available about the Maldives on our blog. You can check out all our Maldives posts here: https://outchasingstars.com/category/travel/southeast-asia/maldives/ Thanks for watching! (And yes, we do recognize the irony of wanting to respect local regulations and customs while still going to islands not on our travel list. It’s a very complicated subject and difficult to elaborate on in a short video. But we did have several conversations about it with various officials and tried to limit our visits to inhabited islands to ones that were already home to tourist guesthouses.) After enjoying a memorable hike through the rainforest finding wild pineapple and cocoa trees in Pirate’s Bay we reached St. David’s Harbour in Grenada within 18 hours in good sailing conditions coming from Tobago. Here we found the perfect maintenance spot with a long jetty on which Ilja was able to do his best on getting Buccoo afloat again while Janna got out her sewing machine to fix sails and sprayhood which had suffered on the Atlantic crossing. The wooden lid of our locker also received deepened caulks which were filled with new silicone. A hike to Mount Qua Qua was impossible and let us end up in Reverend Newton’s church receiving us with a warm welcome and melodiousness. Through an exciting journey over the southern part of Grenada Buccoo received a helpful companion.

As many of you may have deduced, our planned planking party did not go as planned at all. This was for many reasons but mainly due to the outbreak of COVID19 right as people were on their way here. We had planned to take three weeks and get this great crew together and finish planking Arabella. Right before that, we got a visit from Lou Sauzedde at Tips from a Shipwright and we all decided that using stealers and a funky shaped plank would allow us to more easily plank Arabella. This was one of the hurdles as we hadn't planned on taking the time to figure out this funky plank. Next, just as people were starting to show up, word that COVID19 was spreading in the U.S. alerted us to the fact that we were likely going to have to make to big decisions. At first, we thought we may be able to shelter in place all together. But after some serious talks with everyone (some of which you will see in the next video) we sent everyone home. But, in that week that everyone was here, we got a good amount done, despite the planers blowing up... The stealers were fastened in place and we started spiling out that funky plank with the help of Jack (https://daratimber.com/) and Aaron as George and Robert worked very efficiently on making up some more straight planks for later on. It was a real bummer that the planking party ended up being cut short but we do believe that it was the right choice in keeping everyone safe. Thank you all for the support and we hope that you and yours are happy, healthy and staying creative! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. There are always jobs to do on a sailboat and we try to get as much done off season here in the Med as possible. There are separate videos for oil change, winch maintenance, varnishing, bilge pump maintenance and rigging. So this is the stuff thats left... and there's quite a lot! So in this video we delve into teak deck maintenance, cleaning and protecting with Semco, something I thoroughly recommend for teak decks. We also tackle the problem with out roller furling which involves removing the fore stay, always a tricky business for the uninitiated. We look at whats left to do on the engine this year, lacquering some of the Bronze (I went with 'Intralac' this year so we will see how that goes. I replaced the seals in the hatches, having hatches that leak can be really annoying! And much more. Do take a look at this video as I'm sure there will be something in there thats relavent for you. Please do make sure you subscribe it costs you nothing but helps us get seen by YouTube. And if you ring the little bell you will get a notification of our next video:) PATREON: If you like our videos please consider becoming a Patron. Early start on the C&D Canal to beat the current which also rewards us to a stunning pink sunrise. A perfect way to start sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Even though the Boat Show is over we have so much fun exploring Annapolis and all its bricks buildings and street. We even check out the famous consignment store Bacon where we splurge. One of the reason why we stay here for a few days is also because there's a tornado warning in effect which makes for a loud night on a mooring ball. Preparing our home for this years MASSIVE adventure across the Indian Ocean! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we illustrate how Yacht life is way more than just sailing! We hauled out for some general maintenance and a few little upgrades in order for oour planned massive year of sailing in 2020. Little did we know that the world would be rocked by the current crisis. We were fresh off the plane and back to Nandji and ready to get Nandji back in the water to set sail. The final days in the boatyard see me do a touch up paint job on the top sides and Bonita anti fouls the butt and we are back into the drink, returning to our natural habitat! The boat maintenance is done, lets go have some fun! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning as we plan to sail our Nandji girl around the world!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! In this episode of Sailing Millennial Falcon, we get stuck into some DIY Boat maintenance in the yard at spice island marina. The agenda for this haul out is to install (or re-install) our feathering propeller (the H5 Autoprop) from Bruntons which we initially attempt to install in the water at anchor in St Martin September last year. After some testing, we decided the installation was not correct and we switched back to our old propeller. Day one of the yard we were off to a ripper start. In the first hour, we managed to get the old propeller removed with a Prop Puller I had bought from a trade tools store in Australia for 80$ (bargain!) and after a thorough pressure wash the hull bearly needed sanding for next coat of paint (Winning!). Later that afternoon we headed over to meet our friends John and Tadji Kretschmer on their Kauffman 47 named Quetzal to conduct an interview entitled "The Wisdom of 300,000 Bluewater Miles - with John Kretschmer" Adam had arranged prior (stay tuned for that one). After a great evening we whisked ourselves off to the airport to collect some new crew who made the jump to Grenada to hide out with us whilst the COVID-19 chaos unfolds. With a few extra hands we knocked over the sanding and painting of the hull and the propeller installation takes a nerve-wracking turn as Adam comes to the conclusion the propeller is in fact NOT key bound, as he previously suspected and he needs to cut our shaft to make the Bruntons H5 Auto prop fit. Lastly, we get stuck into some Q&A and we give a quick update on the state of play on the Millennial Falcon and Grenada in general in these uncertain times. Thanks for watching! In this video, COVID-19 UPDATE in Peurto Rico Bad to Worse, We bring you all up to date on our current situation trying to find a place to ride out the COVID-19 pandemic that is safe from both the local spread of the virus, and also from this years onslaught of hurricantes. We leave Samana Dominican Republic in fear that the Coronavirus will send the country into a lockdown that will prohibit us from obtaining supplies and to avoid possibly being boarded by locals with ill intent. We arrive in Puerto Rico to a very unwarm welcome by customs and are forced to leave like fugitives, being chased by the police on speedboats! #puertorico #sailing #lockdown #covid19 #coronavirus #thestruggleisreal #liveaboards Special thanks to Timmies Run, our friends who provided the drone footage of our Quarantilla - Thanks Brian and Nath! :) If you like our videos and want to see more/better videos, more often you can become a patreon supporter: https://www.patreon.com/sailingbalachandra If you haven't yet SUBSCRIBED and wan to see more please click the SUBSCRIBE button above, and be sure to give this video a like! #boatlife #lockdown #livingonaboat We’re into our third week of lockdown in the boatyard and restrictions have been tightened even further. At one point toilet facilities were closed and we were even buzzed by a drone. We’re desperate to do the required maintenance on our boat in isolation but police insist that live-aboards stay IN their boats as lockdown is extended by another two weeks. We’re back to homeschooling and staying in contact with other sailboat cruisers via a daily VHF net and it’s a continual struggle to stay sane with three kids onboard. But we’re thankful that we’re all still healthy and have each other, when other folk are going through lockdown in total isolation. Stay safe everyone, wash your hands and know you’re NOT alone in all this! Installing the rugged Barricade rear bumper on our Jeep YJ was pretty easy. Getting the old bumper that was welded on our Jeep YJ and fixing the bent mounts was not. For this project, we mostly let our boy do the work and his friends pitch in to lend a hand. We did have to tack weld on of the Barricade bumper's bottom mount because of damage we just could not beat out. All in all the install went very well, of course doing a video of this makes everything take longer. Find You Jeep Bumper: https://amzn.to/2xGLHuM While installing we did notice that the body lift on the jeep is a bit off, just one more thing right. We think we may take the body lift off and lift the suspicion, not before we take care of the front bumper and maybe a winch. We also want to look at ways to free up power, like electric fans, smaller pulleys, etc. If you have budget-friendly ideas on how to do this we would love to hear them. ***** Crossing the equator is always a special occasion and on our last passage in the Maldives, we crossed for the 3rd time on our circumnavigation. Unfortunately, this time didn't go quite as smoothy as the first two. We just may have accidentally spilled champagne everywhere as crossed AND it was the middle of the night. Worried about King Neptune being upset over our party foul, we made sure to give him an extra big toast! Other than that mishap, this was about as easy as passages get. The wind in the Maldives is practically non-existent so we sailed when we could thanks to the numerous squalls. Otherwise, our engines got a good workout as we made our way South to Gan, where we would officially clear out of the Maldives Thanks for watching! Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under Vlog 25 In Today's vlog Marjolein is done with washing and needlework and goes for a job outside: creating some more fly screens. I think its real craftmanship. When you want DIY flyscreens, have a look :) On the 17th of April 2020 we will leave marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtDOpi7ydzdcRK1H7fEiQFQ . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months. Using fabric or upcycled clothing from your closet, you can make yourself, your loved ones or your community these DIY face masks in bulk. DIY FACE MASKS - 2 (6" x 9") rectangles fabric - 4 ties or strings - Sewing machine or needle & thread - Scissors - Pins or clips 1. Put 1 rectangle fabric, right-side up on a flat surface. 2. Put 1 tie in each corner with them going towards the middle of the rectangle (not off the sides); pin or clip in place. 3. Put the remaining rectangle of fabric, right-side down, on top and clip in place. 4. Sew around the rectangle leaving a gap so you can turn the mask right-side out. One of the things we appreciate so much about boatbuilding is that there are so many different ways to do things and so many things to learn. We have worked really hard to teach ourselves what we need to know in order to build Arabella. From studying in books, haunting the Wooden Boat forum and even looking at real life examples (taking apart Victoria provided us with so much information). But one of the nice things about building our community through these videos is that we have forged some great connections with experienced shipwrights who have a wealth of knowledge to share. Louis Sauzedde is one of these shipwrights. We got to know Lou through our connections with Jamestown Distributors. Lou has had a long running, and very popular Youtube Channel called Tips from a Shipwright (if you don't know if, you need to go check it out!). We've spoken with Lou a bit before but this was his first opportunity to come to see Arabella and he had some tips about planking to share with us, which we very much appreciate. A special thank you to Jamestown Distributors who made the initial connection and has been helping us out tremendously throughout this project. And of course to Lou for making the trip out and spending the day with us in the boathouse. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acorn to Arabella wishlist: http://www.acorntoarabella.com/acorn-to-arabella-wishlist Jamestown Distributors Referral: If you are going to shop at Jamestown Distributors, please consider using our Total Boat referral code: http://totalboat.refr.cc/steveandalixa?t=tg FOLLOW US: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acorntoarabella/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/acorntoarabella Website: http://www.acorntoarabella.com

Preparing our home for this years MASSIVE adventure across the Indian Ocean! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, Bonita's old man was a painter for many years in his younger days and the apple does not fall far from the tree! Bonita gets busy making Nandji beautiful in every hidy hole and paints the bilge in the saloon. After Yosh wet sanded back the hull, Bonita takes it upon herself to keep the painting going and primes up the hull ready for the new coats of antifoul, this proving she is a painters daughter. With some damage done to the topsides, Yosh gets on a scooter and rides 3 hours across Thailand to collect some paint and then turns around and rides back again! A Scooter mission from hell! We are preparing for cold weather sailing in Patagonia, and review the options on how to heat a boat to stay warm while we liveaboard Sv Brick House. Who would think of a wood burning stove on a boat? Our boat heater installation includes a cubic mini wood stove installation (grizzly), a solid fuel burner really, and an engine or bus heater. A wood burning stove on a boat may not be the way every sailor would choose for heating a boat, but it was right for us. We show our wood burning stove diy installation with Dickinson fittings, and what precautions we took to try to make our cubic mini wood stove installation a safe wood burning stove diy. At the end Rebecca talks about why we chose a wood stove over a diesel heater, propane heater, Refleks diesel/alcohol burner, electric heaters, or other boat heater installations, for our cold weather sailing around the world. We will stay warm & off-grid in our floating tiny home! The 4 boat heaters we feel are the best heaters for our sailboat: 1.Cubic Mini Woodstove - For heating the sailboat at anchor, when electricity and fuel is scarce we are using a wood burning stove. The cubic mini grizzly wood stove (CB-1210) nor the 810 ecofan, on top of the wood-stove, use electricity or require us to carry diesel or propane in bulk. Wood is easily found or purchased. This small wood stove burns coal too. It’s an economical source of heat for a small sailboat for those of us sailing on a budget. Cubic Mini Grizzly wood burning stove: https://amzn.to/3dHMNXC (larger woodstove) Cubic Mini Cub wood burning stove : https://amzn.to/2wECGlZ (smaller woodstove) Caframo Ecofan 810 (medium size): https://amzn.to/2xCrS7K Dickinson deck fitting https://amzn.to/2JrFzsU (Not sure we like this-ask in comments) Dickinson DP Cap: https://amzn.to/2xvS9ol (not sure we like this - ask in comments) Tools for wood stove: https://amzn.to/2UuNpsg Double walled flue pipes: https://cubicminiwoodstoves.com/collections/all/products/cb-3024-ss-three-3-stainless-steel-double-wall-flue-pipe-24-section Detailed info about the product and installation at http://www.cubicminiwoodstoves.com 2. Bus Heater/Engine heater. Free heat on the boat when the engine is running: We bought our small boat heater from Fisheries Supplies...these are the ones used by MANY fishing boats in the northwest USA...and they have some cold weather boating up there! https://www.fisheriessupply.com/heater-craft-200-series-kit 3. A kerosene lantern: (Tilley lantern, Coleman lantern). For backup heating the boat Kerosene Lantern: (different model than ours) https://amzn.to/3bDyHEZ 4. Electric boat heater/Space heater/quartz heater- for heating the boat at the dock. anything like this will work... https://amzn.to/3bDAERP I am writing a blog soon about the various boat heaters we researched. If you didn’t notice...Patrick sped me through this part...and I didn’t have enough time to talk about all of the boat heating options as much as I would have liked to. What’s a girl to do. Well...I’m writing a blog. If you want a boring but somewhat exhaustive write up of why we chose a wood burning stove/woodstove over all the other various kinds of boat heaters available, visit our blog at http://www.WhereIsBrickHouse.com. Special Thanks to Dan and Kika on sv Uma ( Youtube Sailing Channel Sailing Uma) They installed a Cubic Mini Wood on their sailboat, and are where we originally got the idea to look at Cubic Mini woodstoves as an option on how to heat a sailboat. Here is that video and is one of the best videos on how to Heat a sailboat:: https://youtu.be/E5gcSMzrhAk Other videos on the Cubic Mini woodstoves on boats, sailboats, tiny homes, vans...: Playlist of probably every Cubic Mini woodstove installation I could find on youtube: https://youtu.be/gYg9oBAIofc Other Videos on Installation & Using Cubic Mini Woodstoves https://youtu.be/BjJ9N7r7gSM https://youtu.be/E5gcSMzrhAk https://youtu.be/zzq2MlX8kRo https://youtu.be/Txbk3l-cUJo https://youtu.be/PDIXOq8Ag_A https://youtu.be/gYg9oBAIofc https://youtu.be/kcGzjIx1QX4 ▬ FOLLOW ALONG! ▬▬ ✩Instagram: http://www.Instagram.com/svBrickHouse ✩ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/SYBrickhouse ✩ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SVBrickhouse ✩Our blog: :http://www.WhereIsBrickHouse.com ✩Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/PatrickChildress ✩Tshirts and other: https://www.WhereIsBrickHouse.com/store Support us to keep the videos coming: 🍯(Tip Jar) http://whereisbrickhouse.com/tip-jar/ ⛵️ TWO FREE SAILING COURSES: http://whereisbrickhouse.com/sailing-school PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/SVBrickHouse https://www.predictwind.com/?ref=rebeccachildress ⏩Start your Amazon shopping here: https://amzn.to/2K9MmuA #sailingAfrica #PatrickChildressSailing #TravelsAnimals

In this episode, we successfully remove the mast using the wooden 'A' frame and just the 2 of us. It was tricky but we got it done. However, sadly there is no actual footage of the mast coming down as I didn't press record on the gopro. Sorry.

A quick COVID-19 update from the Caribbean (Antigua), and then on to some more maintenance in Bodrum, Turkey. Specifically, we address motor mount issues on our genset, install an external voltage regulator (Sterling Power), and add a large fuel filter to our outboard engine.

Well, there's a global pandemic going on that's preventing us from being able to give away our sailboat at this moment. We're still giving away the boat, but it's going to have to happen once this global crisis gets better. Preparing our home for this years MASSIVE adventure across the Indian Ocean! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we are fresh back to Nandji after a trip home to Australia for Christmas. It is a great feeling too be back on our sailboat after being away, Nandji truly is our home. Wasting no time, the very next day we haul out Nandji at Port Takola marina in Krabi province, Thailand. We plan to complete a bunch of small jobs including some electric repairs and installs, bottom paint, prop love and paint the bilge in the saloon. 2020 was shaping to be a massive year for us as we planned to sail across the Indian Ocean. Having no where to complete maintenance along the way, this visit to the boat yard was to prepare Nandji for the years travel ahead. So we haul out our home in Thailand. Let the boat work begin! *** NEW WEBSITE - NOW LIVE *** (August 2020) If you'd like to know more about us, our plans, our boat and this adventure, then be sure to check out our new website here: https://www.cluelessyachties.com Sailing boat DIY is something that I imagine most boat owners have to get to grips with at some level or another. *****Disclaimer***** This is NOT a how to video, this is a 'how did it go when Dominic attempted it himself' video, ha ha, no seriously. We will post links to reputable how to videos at the bottom of this description. ********************** We're learning that a sailing boat has so many systems to try to get to grips with, a learning curve that's even steeper when you have exactly ZERO experience in any of them!! The other options for sail boat owners is to pay someone else to take care of these jobs for you, but this presents two rather large problems. Firstly the cost for anything boat related adds up really fast, and second, what if you're caught with a problem somewhere where there isn't any easily accessible help? For these two reasons alone we are making it our mission to get to grips with as much as possible before we set sail. In this video Dominic attempts to save over £300 by servicing the Volvo Penta sail drive on our boat, himself. With exactly ZERO experience in anything mechanical, he calls upon the amazing resources of the internet in an attempt to both broaden his understanding of a sail boats systems, as well as save some much needed money, especially in these unprecedented Covid-19 times. A couple of special mentions go out to: John Smith of http://www.solacemarine.co.uk who was very kind with his time and helped Dominic better understand how to service a Volvo Penta Engine. Also a huge shout out to Chris over at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC64BFQulaAIl1xWG4DJlQ8A Chris has made so many videos that make it feel easy to attempt jobs that otherwise would be farmed out to the experts, so if you're interested in an actual 'How To' video, his is the channel to go and check out!

Hi Everyone, For over twelve years we have needed a solution to our driveway's curb. Concrete and such can be thousands so we decided to give these Bridjit curb ramps a try. You can find them here: https://www.bridjit.com/ They are a cool, high-quality product made in the USA from recycled tires. Of course, I HAD to try my hand at painting them and we all know how paint and I get along... But, the ramps are an easy way to fix that horrible curb lift. Now to get to fixing that 996 chin spoiler, huh... #bridjit #curmramp #bridjitcurbramp Help support our channel and become a patron: https://www.patreon.com/heidiandfrannysailing Amazon Store Page https://www.amazon.com/shop/heidiandfrannysgarage Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Heidi-and-Frannys-Garage-1902530353317503/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heidiandfrannysgarage/?hl=en Twitter:https://twitter.com/HeidiFranny Website: https://heidiandfrannysailing.com/ The Cameras and Equipment we use: Main Shooter: Panasonic Lumix G85 (https://goo.gl/geSFpN) Main Shooter Lens: (https://goo.gl/RsHkkF) Main Shooter Microphone: Rode RodeLink FM Wireless Filmmaker System https://goo.gl/aQsmrg Car Cameras: Sony FDR-X3000 (https://goo.gl/P6XdYZ) GoPro Hero 5 black (https://goo.gl/kjjr31) Car Mounts: Fat Gecko Camera and Camcorder Mount (https://goo.gl/zqCHvT) Fat Gecko Camera Mount (https://goo.gl/AXQAr6) Fat Gecko Mount (https://goo.gl/RhyXYT) Drone: DJI Mavic Pro and Kit (https://goo.gl/jQbk9V) Stabilizer for mobile phones and action cams: DJI Phone Camera Gimbal OSMO MOBILE, Black (https://goo.gl/Acr1jg) Disclaimer: Due to factors beyond the control of “Heidi and Franny’s Garage”, We cannot guarantee against improper use or unauthorized modifications of this information. “Heidi and Franny’s Garage” assumes no liability for property damage or injury incurred as a result of any of the information contained in this video. This is an in-depth review of the boat work that went into painting our sailboat using the Quantum 99 paints by EMC, provided in the Genius Bucket DIY kit. We show you the steps we took to apply this paint with rollers, no tipping needed, and the sanding we had to do between coats. This may look a bit like a repeat of our Episodes 25 and 26, but it is not! It is simply an expanded view of the process for the DIY crowd who follow our Boat Work series. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We can't produce quality inspirational content indefinitely without the support of our fans. Steve made the last oak plank! Yes, we know, we've said it before (and might say it again... haha). But we are planning for this to be the last full length oak plank we put on the hull. After setting up our new planer with Joe and Grandpa, while I was in Costa Rica, it was now time to start getting us closer to our planking party. There was still one more plank to put on the boat before we could switch to cedar. So, getting this last one done will set us up well to be able to cruise into the cedar planking. These have been a lot of work. Much more than we anticipated and we are very happy to be almost done with them. They are heavy, difficult to maneuver and they can be tough to fair. We are very much hoping that the cedar planks will be much faster to work through. So, here is the last one, and it fought us to the bitter end... ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ We would like to add a little note to everyone to say thank you during these new and trying times.
