Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** When you think about Madagascar, one of the first things that comes to mind is lemurs. So of course, at the top of our to-do list after officially clearing in was to go find them!We joined our friends Kimi and Trevor on Nosy Komba for an epic hike in search of those lemurs. Turns out, they're not super hard to find and they are super friendly! The rest of the hike was pretty awesome as well, with several chameleon sightings and some actual cold drinks available at the top! Not long after our arrival in Nosy Be, we had a birthday for the Admiral to celebrate. In true cruiser style, she elected to enjoy the day with a couple of dives off the island of Sakatia. What could be better than turning another year older in Madagascar?! Thanks for watching! (Footage from October 2019) Curious for more up to date info on where we are and what we're doing? At the 11th of June 2020 our main mast was lifted back on the ship after one month of maintenance. Before that, the original coin for luck was putted back at the mast foot by Stefan Björk, owner of Greencarrier Group, accompanied by our CEO Peter Alexandersson. It was a symbolic day, because it was exactly 25 years ago that the keel of the ship was laid.
At the 11th of June 2020 the main mast of the Götheborg was stepped (lifted back on the ship) by our crew after a month of maintenance and inspection. A delicate, but very smooth operation on a memorable day, because it was exactly 25 years ago that the keel was laid. Great job done by our crew!
Slip under the waterline to see the hull of our sailboat. We show you how she looks over a few months time, spanning 2 hull cleanings. We choose to DIY the hull cleaning. It saves a little bit of money, but more important is how we can monitor very critical parts of the boat ourselves. We use a hookah rig, snorkel & mask, along with various tools to get the job done. In this installment we get some much appreciated assistance and really motor along with the oak planking. With three of us in the shop two could work on Arabella while the third picked timber and made planks. We procure some big ole logs that we were told was walnut but turned out to be ash (still usable!). Grandpa fires up the old Massey Ferguson and smooths the wood yard road in preparation for the sawmill to arrive. We pile up the next round of saw logs and Aaron drops his first tree, a big pine tree that recently lost it's top. As always, thanks for following our crazy journey! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you feel like helping to keep the journey moving along, here are a few ways to do that. The ICW is so shallow that we end up playing Sea Tow and run aground ourselves. We sail through the Georgia ICW which has stunning landscapes and sunsets. We make it to Fernandina Beach, the beginning of the Florida ICW and meet up with Alex's sister Julie for some gator tails. It's starting to be nice and warm but we get welcomed to Jacksonville by the rain. This is also where we say bye to our buddy boat friends Scott and Tobi from SV Northern Wind. Asparagus Roasted in the Oven with Garlic and Balsamic Marinade is a real treat! Roasting them to still have that slight crunch with loads of outside flavor is our favorite way to prepare Asparagus! Make This Recipe! https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/asparagus-roasted-with-garlic-balsamic Our Asparagus Roasted with Garlic Balsamic are a Delicious way to prepare this Vegetable. The sweetness of Balsamic Vinegar and Fresh Garlic marinate the Asparagus then Roasting these in the Oven or a Grill gives a Flavor that is so Good. We love to Roast all our Vegetables because they don't get mushy and waterlogged from Boiling. Prep Time: 10 Minutes Oven Temperature: 350 Degrees Fahrenheit Roasting Time: 15 - 20 Minutes Asparagus Roasted with Garlic Balsamic Ingredients: 25 Asparagus Spears (about 1 1/2 Pounds) 2 Tablespoons Fresh Minced Garlic (about 2 Cloves) 2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar 3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 - 2 Teaspoons Salt 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper Check out our shop on our website for branded gear: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/our_shop/ Support us by shopping through our Amazon link, cost nothing to you and really helps us out. https://amzn.to/351krTR You Can Also Follow Us On: https://www.facebook.com/ChrisDoesWhat/ https://www.instagram.com/chrisdoeswhat/ https://www.instagram.com/dininginwithdanielle/ https://www.pinterest.com/ChrisDanielleRedding/ Before doing anything related to things we do, here is the Legal Stuff: Disclaimer: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/disclaimer/ Privacy Policy: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/privacy-policy/ Terms Of Use: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/terms-of-use/ You can also follow us on our blog: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/ Or go directly to cooking: https://www.dininginwithdanielle.com If you have a request, please see our blog and go to contact. https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/contact-us/ Video & Blog Productions: Florida Landscapes Explore Florida Recipes with Danielle DIY and HowTo Reviews Boat Restore Playlist: https://youtu.be/AWXqtJuseII Explore Florida Playlist: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/y_explore_florida Jeep Mods Playlist: https://youtu.be/9EwWEwSmZm0 Recipes Playlist: https://youtu.be/rO7LOGQ1Dgg Equipment: All videos are edited with Sony VEGAS Pro https://amzn.to/2GrzE77 Our video studio does have a green screen with umbrella lighting https://amzn.to/2BVIlpq All recording equipment is Sony and our main camera is the HDR-CX675 offering servo steadied filming and 5.1 sound. https://amzn.to/2BlJxQb Affiliate Links: - Shop Amazon at no cost to you, and helps our channel: https://amzn.to/2SMfsjS - Best Blog Hosting: https://www.bluehost.com/?utm_source=www.chrisdoeswhat.com&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=affiliate-link_chrisdoeswhat_notype The content on our YouTube Channel is only intended for adults. #ChrisDoesWhat #DiningInWithDanielle #HoMaidChef

In this video, Thank You Grenada! Still Sailing under Covid-19, Dan goes spearfishing with friends in Megan's bay, St Thomas USVI, then we set sail for Maho Bay St John USVI to look at a replacement outboard motor as our little Tohatsu 3.5hp 4-stroke is giving us continuous problems. We discover Maho Bay to be a beach paradise and spend a couple days there. We receive our acceptance to enter the country of Grenada for hurricane shelter which is still under COVID-19 lockdown so we head for Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas USVI to prepare for a long ocean passage to Grenada! #covid-19 #liveaboard #caribbieansailing #yorkies #2020hurricaneseason If you like our videos and want to see more/better videos, more often you can become a patreon supporter: https://www.patreon.com/sailingbalachandra If you haven't yet SUBSCRIBED and wan to see more please click the SUBSCRIBE button above, and be sure to give this video a like! The Smart Cat S280 starts to fulfill a gap in the cruising catamaran market that needed to be filled. Before today, "small and affordable" could never enter the same sentence as "cruising catamaran," with most cruising catamarans starting at half a million dollars or more. I've been saying that the catamaran market in general is moving towards a "bigger is better" mentality and that's definitely not the always the case. I've been wanting smaller and more affordable cats to go on the new boat market for a long time now, and the Smart Cat S280, although definitely not perfect, is a breath of fresh air in that regard. She's small, relatively affordable with a price tag of $149,900, and offers a ton of accommodation for a 28 foot boat. She's built to be a daysailer, weekended or light coastal cruiser, and I think she would be a fun boat for those purposes. I'd love to see more manufacturers start to compete in this niche. It's nice that the Smart Cat S280 is here now, but I'd like to see more than one option for new cruising cats of this size, and more specifically options that emphasize sailing performance more than the Smart Cat S280. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Base Price: $149,900 Smart Cat Website: http://s-comtech.com/?lang=en USA Yacht Export: http://www.usayachtexport.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure you make an informed decision on your next boat with this tool: http://sailingsoulianis.com/shop/ltl-boat-buying-dashboard/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. *** NEW WEBSITE - NOW LIVE *** (August 2020) If you'd like to know more about us, our plans, our boat and this adventure, then be sure to check out our new website here: https://www.cluelessyachties.com We launch our sail boat for the first time ever. Technically it's a relaunch for CADOHA, but for us, it's our first time. We're a little nervous about a couple of aspects to this sail boat re-launch in particular, firstly due to where we intend to moor up on the river, and secondly due to Dominics' DIY sail drive re-building, we have our fingers and toes crossed that it all works and nothing falls off! The Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have only just been eased a little so we can't go all that far, but we are allowed to put her back in the water and take her to her new home (for the moment). Hopefully everything goes well and we will be setting sail before much longer and sailing to some new and interesting destinations in an attempt to dust off some of the cobs webs which h have built up over the last few months. We didn’t know what to expect or how to budget for such an unknown lifestyle. Sure, we had done several google searches on “how much does it cost to sail around the world” but we couldn’t find anything all that helpful (sooo much more info out now). It was mostly a bunch of hypotheticals or listicles of what to consider. Some things were easier to guess at, like how much we would spend on food (because we’re still going to eat). But we had no idea what we would be spending on things like fuel, repairs, and maintenance. Over the past four years, we’ve sailed to seven countries and put over 13,000 nautical miles under our hulls. We’ve learned a lot in that time and learned a lot about our spending habits in this new salty life. Everyone always says BOAT is just an acronym for Bust Out Another Thousand. And in the beginning, it felt that way. The first year was buying and outfitting for off the grid and it was a total wallet buster! But since then, we’ve been able to stick to our budget pretty closely and we’ve been pleasantly surprised. So, what does it cost to sail around the world? Not many people are willing to share their personal expenses or talk about money (so please be kind). But it’s hard to plan a big life change on hypotheticals. So, here is what it costs us to live and travel full time on a sailboat. WHO ARE WE? We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for almost a decade. Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America. Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not! Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild adventures, and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible. We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life. Because... Life is an adventure! Extraordinary moments out there for anyone willing, and wanting, to go after it. Ya know life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure. With the COVID 19 pandemic closing down the boatyard, I took a "small" project home to do while self isolating. This video is my attempt to repair the very damaged companionway hatch cover. I make no apologies for mistakes made in this video. This has been about learning to do small DIY jobs on my boat. I have enjoyed the this project, so far, and look forward to showing you guys the finished result in the next video.
Review Jeep 4.88 ring and pinion we installed 6 months trailing with no issues! If you follow us you will know that in December we changed the 4.10 ring and pinion in favor of 4.88. These new gears really rock on the trail with our larger tires. Gives us the power we need to get up hills in our Jeep YJ, and more power on the road getting to the trails. ***** FINALLY! After two months of waiting in Seychelles, a weather window appeared to sail down to Madagascar. And Starry Horizons was not shy about showing how eager she was to be a sailboat again! She tied her all time speed record: sailing 209nm in a 24 hour period. Zoom, zoom! The passage was still a bit rough with some decent sized waves and huge squalls. Rounding the tip of Madagascar brought a few heart pounding moments (at night of course!) thanks to a MASSIVE counter-current, but the passage went about as well as we could have possibly hoped and proved that waiting for the right weather was well worth it! After numerous challenges and setbacks we are finally picking up the pace and getting into a solid groove! The replacement planks all go onto the hull quickly and smoothly compared to the other planks. We also have to get a bit inventive so we can hit the same screw holes in the bronze strapping with the new planks. We push the big band saw to it's limits re-sawing oak planking and spend some time on the scales weighing Steve as well as an oak and cedar plank to see if our previous estimate for increased weight was accurate. All in all it seems we are on the up swing, fingers crossed it stays that way!! Sailing through Georgia turns into a full on adventure. We even catch blue crabs with chicken drumsticks and rescue our buddy boat SV Northern Wind. The windy Georgia ICW brings us to remote creeks and in a grassland scenery. With dolphins and birds we see more wildlife than other people. If you like what you see don't forget to give us the thumbs up! #sailingvlog #livingonaboat #catchingbluecrabs ***************************************** Help the videos stay alive by becoming a patron or donating. This boat truly had more character than we've seen in other yachts. We love homes built in the 20's and it looks like boats built in the 20's are no exception. Abeking & Rasmussen was and still is a very prestigious yard in Germany. Although, she definitely shows her age, she's a worthwhile endeavour for the right owner. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. For this reason our channel is very DIY focused, with the goal to show anyone watching that a lot is possible if you're not afraid to make some mistakes along the way. I am a step closer to my goal of sailing solo across the Pacific. I've completed the installation of new and permanent crew member "Skylie II," my new hydrovane. The hydrovane will act similar to an autopilot, and is a relatively simple device that frees me from the helm and keeps me on course. I couldn't have done it without the help of my friends. A big thank you to Bobby Marinkovic who led the installation, Rick Pawell and Claude Strobbe who also assisted, and Miho Nakashima who took photos, videos, and coordinated pizza. Wow it feels good to have completed this step. Now, onto blue water! The Man With 4 Broken Ribs - He is unstoppable! My good friends Hilde and Eddy joins me in Greece to help prepare Mermaid for a new sailing season. Eddy who had been struggling thru cancer surgery a few months before had just fallen on his back and broke 4 of his ribs just 2 weeks before departure from Norway, but that didn't stop him from running around serving this and that on the boat as if he was 20! And we did have som fun too, we rented scooters and drove around the island of Aegina to explore all the sights. As the boat was a complete mess from all the ongoing projects we stayed at the Plaza Hotel in Aegina town.
Sitting around at home on self quarantine with nothing to do but surf the web, netflix, and chill. With our 1 year wedding anniversary upon us, it was perfect timing to....make our family a little larger and fool our friends and family by posting our new dinghy like you would announce a pregnancy. No, we'll leave the babies for the popular sailing channels. We have enough on our plate! Little Shark is a 1970 Boston Whaler. She's 13' long and powered by a 30 HP Mercury EFI Outboard. We did some maintenance and took "Little Shark" for a spin around Marina Del Rey, CA. The "red tide" turned into a mind-blowing light show of bio-luminescence at night. A couple days later we took Shaun's mom(and dad) around MDR for mother's days. You could tell it was already started to disappear but was still an amazing sight to see and we all really enjoyed it! With lockdown having been eased, we are now able to get out a little more and travel a little further. I`ve now been able to collect my bike, meet up with (a limited number of ) friends and family, go walking, sailing, make pasty`s and do more boat maintenance. Generally speaking this tiny additional freedom given has made such a difference to how I feel. Plus the weather has been great. Win win.
We’re Duca and Roberta, a Brazilian couple that have bought a 44ft steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) that was abandoned on the hard for 22 years in Guarujá, Brazil. We are on the mission of refitting her to travel the world taking our house with us! Before we found our dream boat we had another cool project: we were building our Tiny Shipping Container House by ourselves, without any prior experience to be our land base in our hometown, Florianópolis (Brazil). We have sailed north side of Biscayne Bay, Miami, Florida on first day. It's located in west side of Key Biscayne and extended all the way to Elliott Key. This bay is great for day sailing. Wind was 13 to 17 mph. Wave was 2 or 3 feet. We moored the boat at the next to Miami Marine Stadium in Key Biscayne. As you see the video, there were many other boats are anchored there. This place is great anchoring or mooring place. Just be careful that the bottom is muddy and sandy so anchoring could be tricky. Smart Cat S280 is completely new concept of sailing catamaran that will blow your mind. This boat is absolutely sensational and very innovative. It's compact, low maintenance and economical. It has spacious deck and lounge area with very practical features that you can live aboard with perfect privacy. This week I got my custom gimbaled stove installed and made a glorious frozen pizza. I also got the galley diesel tank hooked up and put the kitchen island back in place. *** Links *** Sail Life Shop: (Items are shipped from both the US and EU) https://saillifeshop.com/ Sail Life on Patreon: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnPatreon Sail Life on Instagram: http://instagram.com/madsdahlke Sail Life on Facebook: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnFacebook Sail Life on Twitter: http://bit.ly/SailLifeOnTwitter Donations for the sandpaper fund: https://www.paypal.me/saillife
Want bass on a budget, we thump this car for $75 dollars. We take these Autotek 15-inch Subwoofers that Korbin AKA "TikTok" got for free, coupled with the BOSS AR1500M bought for $75, and shake this car. The Subwoofer Box in Korbin's car was way too small, and the holes cut in killed the sound. We have left links for all products below. Regardless of how many horses you have packed into your hood, you can have real audio horsepower with this Autotek SUPER SPORT 10 in. Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer! SUPER SPORT subs are louder with deeper bass and are extremely reliable-thanks to BASS-TEK. BASS-TEK is a texture on the surface of the subwoofer's cone. No matter if you are competing for trophies or just competing for best audio system at the gas station, this Autotek SUPER SPORT car audio subwoofer is made to show off-and if there are judges watching-demand attention. BASS-TEK engineered cone minimizes flex and increases deep bass power Front and rear venting allows cooler air to be exchanged in the voice coil gap which helps the subwoofer make deep bass and extend the life of the component POWER: Maximum Power Output of 1500 Watts at 2 Ohms into one channel. This boat was purchased new from Shuswap Marina in 1994 and has been serviced and stored here by the same owners ever since then. This is a 20' bowrider with an 8'6" beam and the hybrid captain's chair/sleeper seat layout which gives a huge amount of space. The interior is in great shape, motor runs well, and exterior is quite clean aswell. There have been no major repairs on the boat or motor, but all maintenance has been well taken care. Comes on the tandem axle trailer with swing tongue which is from 2005 and comes with cockpit and bow covers. This is a great 1st time boat, or even an upgrade from an 18' boat that your family has outgrown. Check out www.shuswapmarina.com for more pics and a walkaround video!
