While Sailing in Cuba we spend several lazy days in a remote anchorage, trading rum for lobster with the local fishermen, walking on pristine beaches and living off the sea. Fishing amenities are abundant and all add to the vessel’s focus on landing fish on long days offshore, which is the primary reason for anglers to consider this vessel. While triple outboards get the job done in terms of speed and power, they are not easy to manage unless they come with a full complement of features including power steering, iTrim and iSteer – all of which were incorporated in the triple Evinrude E-TEC G2 rig on our test boat. For anglers who want to bring their family aboard, a set of options are available to increase the number and comfort of seating aboard.

When living on the edge isn't enough, 25 teams went full send all the way from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, AK in what is classified as a race, but is more of a mad dash from civilization. The topsides are still rectangular providing more room, and the side helm console and bench seat are etched into many adults’ memories from childhood. The foam-filled hull is still unsinkable. Gone is the cathedral hull design made famous by Ray Hunt, replaced by a better invention of Hunt’s, the V-hull form. With a 15-degree deadrise at the stern, the boat retains much of its former stability, but now handles better.
