The S Class Association is an organization with great sailors with one design boats on the line, by getting more people to be involved this the Tuesday nights rases in Newport.
Having the PAPOOSE and SQUAW both of the reconstructed "S" boats were shipped to Augusta, GA then later on in Jacksonville, Florida before the Antigua Classics is a race, one moth before the Classic Regatta.
Restoring AQUILA to win raises and to keep the old tradition of the boat design with the help of Bristol Boat company for restoring this 90 year old boat "S" boat back in the water. After restoring AQUILA this made Angus motivated to look for more "S" boats and reconstructing them. Look for another boat called RED-JACKET in south county Rhode Island.
By taking the offset models of what Nathanel Herreshoffs design by using a more up to date 3D program to make a full sail frames and forms to recreate a full scale mold in full sized shape. keeping the signature of the original shape and ideas of Captain Nat's designs. Technology today has helped restoring S boats an easy lay out and stronger structure.
Angus is one of four generations of "S" sailors, the main points that was his goal were to preserve classic "S" boats, to engage the next generation in sailing classics, enable a modern, ambitious race program for everyone who would be interested, also support the craft, and win races. PAPOOSE was donated to Herreshoff Marine Museum along with SQUAW to restore the Classic S boats look and performance.
Angus Davis learned to sail in Bristol waters aboard AQUILA, the Herrehsoff S Class sloop his grandfather Robert Spink Davis and father Geoff Davis raced out of Bristol since the 1960s, and believed by class historian Ken Upham to be the first S Boat ever built, H.M.Co. #828. With growing interest in the S Class and classic racing, many accomplished sailors compete in S Class one-design racing on Narragansett Bay, Long Island Sound and Cape Cod.

Man Overboard! This edition of the Annapolis Yacht Club Wednesday Night Races was an adventure. Dark clouds and lightning loomed while crafty current sucked hundreds around the bay. A junior sailor had a come-from-behind victory in the J70 class and the film boat picked up a man overboard.
