We left our home in Boise, Idaho and flew to Florida to climb aboard Banana Pancakes, our 2013 48 ft Leopard Catamaran. We had less than 10 days to provision, fix, and prepare our boat to set sail. As a family of 6 this wasn't easy, but we did it!

We head to the BAHAMAS! In this episode we take our kids BLUE WATER CRUISING as we sail our catamaran across the GULF STREAM! This is our family's first sailing adventure to a new country. We explain our approach on how and when to make the passage, and talk about the pros and cons of where we made landfall to check-in. Bluefin tuna fishing has slowed down a bit in the last week or so, but we're seeing kelp paddy yellowtail be a bit more active. They're pretty line shy, and some paddy's that are holding lots of fish don't produce a ton of bites, but it's still early in the season for prime paddy fishing. Cat covers technique for getting a fish out of the kelp. #girlswhofish We were able to scrape out 1 night time bluefin tuna. Schools are hard to find & even harder to stay on top of right now, but we're still fishing at night! Come prepared either way. It's bound to turn on again, it's just a matter of time.
