Eric, Eanna and Drake from Westsail 42 Fiona spend 2 days exploring the Portugese fishing port of Nazaré. After cleaning the boat and filling the water tanks, they walk to explore the town. They pass by majestic sandy beach with amazing breaking waves, and also see thousands of fish being dried on the screens on the beachfront. Eanna buys a great hand knit sweater and Drake has a conversation with Eric about the cruising life.

This video is from a Memorial Heritage Run held on Ford Island, Hawaii, by the Chief Petty Officers' Association of Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii for the First Class Petty Officers. The speech was given by one of the First Classes and as more information is given I will fill in. Sorry for the sound quality and picture quality as it was filmed on a potato. Behind the speechgiver is the Oklahoma Memorial and the pillars are representing the many men who now "man the rails" forever. When on approach the sailors of each U.S. Navy ship will render honors to those who died in Pearl Harbor by manning the rails, standing topside and saluting in a solemn sign of respect. The battleship is the U.S.S. Missouri. The Heritage Run is an event in which sailors of a command run in ranks singing cadence and, from one location to the next, recant and remember the events of December 7, 1941. 70 Years Since the Bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japanese Imperial forces.

Auf der Nordsee haben wir im Juli 2011 wirklich alle Wetter, nur keinen Sommer. Ja, es schien auch mal die Sonne, aber während des knapp dreiwöchigen Nordseetörns "ging niemand baden". Zwischen Flaute, Schauern und 8 Bft. haben wir alles abgewettert - die 8 Bft. zum Glück im Hafen von Norddeich. Einen Ausschnitt des Törns, der uns von Cuxhaven, über Helgoland, Spiekeroog, Norderney bis Norddeich bringt, zeigt das Video. Für die Kenner: Das Video entspricht nicht dem realen Törnverlauf, sondern ist ein Mix aus der Hin- und Rückreise von Heiligenhafen nach Norddeich und zurück. Hier ein Beispiel, wie man aus einem Besuch mit einer Reisegruppe, ein Filmthema machen kann.

Super 8 Kamera im flexiblen Ewa-Marine Gehäuse. Zum Schutz der Zoom-Wippe gegen den Druck in der Tiefe wurde die Halbschale aus Kunstoff (Kinderüberraschung) mit Tesafilm drübergeklebt. Der Ton wurde mit einem Sony-Walkman WMD-6C aufgenommen und in der Nachbearbeitung (Avid) synchron angelegt. Die beiden UW-Lampen sind Marke Eigenbau. Eine hat 4 verschiedene Hallogenbrenner: 20W/35W/50W und 75W können wahlweise geschaltet werden. (Bleigel-Akku 9,5Ah) Die 2. UW-Lampe hat an der einen Seite 20W-Halogen und an der Seite 50W-Halogen. (Akku 10xNC Mono-Zellen 4Ah) Alle Aufnahmen entstanden freitauchend.
