Was I chased in the water by a sea snake? Catamaran Impi is sailing around the world. This is one of many visits to islands in New Caledonia. The footage features a stroll around the entire island, some yoga on the sandy spits, kite surfing, Sea Snakes, the Escapade Island Resort and so much more. The island is quaint and beautiful ! The annual Prix D'Elegance brought out over 40 of the fleet competing in the Best Themed Yacht or the Best Presented Yacht competitions. John & Kim Clinton's Holy Cow was the winner in the Best Theme section with their take on gay marriage rights and Chris Barlow's Platinum was the Best Presented Yacht.

The Cruising Divisions, Multihulls and Trailables all set off on a passage race around the Whitsunday Islands in sun and a good breeze. Dale Lorimer from Bow Caddy Media caught up with the fleet around Dent Island.

The penultimate day of racing saw the fleet setting out under grey skies that lifted to reveal another good day’s racing around the Whitsundays.

VERY BASICS OF SAILING

So this year we are once again going to have a couple of weeks off work during the summer months to have a family cruise up the east coast of England. Only this time we are doing it in our 20ft Red Fox trailer sailer yacht. En visibilité réduite, les risques de collision avec un autre bâtiment ou d’échouage sont beaucoup plus importants. On réduit la vitesse du bateau et on utilise la corne de brume pour signaler notre présence. Une veille auditive et visuelle de tous les instants pourra être renforcée par la présence d’une personne à l’avant, les autres équipiers surveillant les côtés.
