En Julio de 2015 el Quinto Real pasa Finisterre con una tripulación formada por Emilio, Rocio, Jenny y Miguel, todos ellos de Granada. Han embarcado en La Coruña y vamos a Vigo. Rocio es antropóloga y trabaja con sordos. En seguida propone hacer una pequeña película para sordos contando el viaje. La idea es muy atractiva e inmediatamente nos ponemos a ello: este es un pequeño avance de lo que hemos filmado. Macif, le maxi-trimaran de François Gabart et Pascal Bidégorry, a remporté samedi 7 novembre au matin à Itajai, au Brésil, la 12e Transat Jacques Vabre toutes classes confondues, après un duel haletant avec un autre multicoque géant, Sodebo (Thomas Coville-Jean-Luc Nélias). Première course et première victoire pour Macif, au terme de quelque 5 400 milles théoriques (environ 10 000 km), parcourus en 12 jours 17 heures et 29 minutes. THATS GOT TO HURT ! The Skipper on GTR forgot to duck, lucky for him he got back up to race another day. Gybing a boat can be one of the most dangerous manoeuvres you can make due to the amount of distance the boom needs to travel. In this case the skipper got caught up in the runners which were the wrong side of the boom. Sailing fails are OK as long as you learn from your mistakes and put plans in place to avoid them happening again. I hope the racers who are watching this sailing video learn what not to do. The crash gybe could have been a lot worse, the skipper was lucky he could stand up and keep going after the crashing into the leeward side of the boat.
