We've safely anchored our sailboat in the protected harbor of Rock Sound in Eleuthera. You could weather most frontal systems here, but you would need to move around a bit to stay close to the weather shore. It was strange arriving here after being in the Exumas for months. Eleuthera has tall trees and roads - with CARS! Seriously, it was a bit of a shock to see these things after going without seeing them for so long in the small cays of the Exumas. Ok so its not as bad as it sounds but every year our yacht club has a fun race down our river, the Medway, out into the Thames and around the wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery. This was a second world war supply ship that sank just at the entrance to both rivers and that still has a huge amount of explosives on board. Actually, we lost the ferry from Picton to Wellington due to the earthquake problems, so we needed to spend more time in Picton. After that we slept in a free camping ground in Hunterville." As our paths crossed with Sailing UMA we decided to check out the island Culebra, Spanish Virgin Islands, together both by road and by the sea! We rented a golf cart that we had to push to go up the hills and went to some of Culebras pretty beaches. Then we sailed around the island to the small islands Cayo Luis Peña and Culebrita. Such pretty, pretty islands! And I almost forgot, we found a bomb! :) We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. Hi Everyone! Just a quick little video of our first drive with the local Ferrari Club. We started out at a member’s beautiful house and from there went up Golden Gate Canyon to Central City, then up to Echo Lake at the base of Mount Evans and then down Lookout Mountain road to finally end up in Golden Colorado for a yummy lunch at Indulge restaurant. Our 1985 308 QV did well except for two spark plug wires that popped off during the ascend to Echo Lake. It just took a minute to pop them back on and we were on our way! Super fun ride with all manner of 458, F430, 512TR, 355, California, a Daytona and others. We even had a couple German and American relatives along for the ride 😊 We hope you enjoyed the video. In this weeks' WoW Niklas and Catherine Zennstrom's RAN Racing TP 52 wins the Audi Sailing Week in Sardinia in the 52 Super Series. Congrats guys to you and your great crew, In Bermuda the highlight this week was the fabulous SuperYacht Regatta. J Class and beautiful huge sail boats raced in a series that took our breath away. Look at these fantastic examples of the sport of sailing for sailors and yachts. You will enjoy this regatta. Meanwhile another institution the Storm Sailing Club conducted their Block Island Race Week in light and changeable conditions, for foilers we look at the making of Oracle Team USA, celebrating 100 years of the TranSat the French go all out and stage a race between the Super-liner Queen Mary 2 and four French MAD 70 Maxi Trimarans. A slow start but at our upload time the Tris were neck and neck with the liner. Keep watching the WoW next week for the finish in New York. And we finish with a tribute and an apology. Emirates Team New Zealand think outside the box and they built a 50 foot foiling catamaran that blitzed the US defender in the 35th Americas Cup in Bermuda. Down one point as the defender collected a bonus point in a farcical buildup series that included the defender with the challengers. (huh?) the young Kiwi team won 8:1 to take the "Old Mug" back to the Southern Hemisphere. Not signing the ongoing agreement the ETNZ team can now dictate whatever bats they desire all in the tradition of the original AC Deed Of Gift. Now the apology. John Bassadone’s Peninsula Petroleum holds a slender lead after three races and considerable patience from race officials and competitors alike on the opening day of the RC44 Porto Cervo Cup, hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. While conditions were forecast to be a brisk 15-20 knots, they were anything but this. After race one, the wind shut off for most of the afternoon before a light breeze filled in enabling two more races to sailed, finally completed at 1900 CET. Ein weiterer Versuch, aus Shelter Bay weg zu kommen steht an und meine Schwester Charlotte und ich machen uns auf den Weg nach Portobello. Jihaaaa, meine neuen Segel von Lee Sails sind endlich da!!! Das ist auf jeden Fall ein großer Schritt in die richtige Richtung. Allerdings hakt es auch mal wieder...Karl soll aus dem Wasser, um den Unterwasseranstrich zu erneuern und den Tiefenmesser zu wechseln.
