She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Last weekend I went to Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles to complete my scuba certification with my little brother Colby and my dive instructor Jimmy Shannon. Cuttyhunk is such a cool little island only about 2 miles long by 1 mile wide. There were only a handful of people around while we explored Cuttyhunk this beautiful late September day. We found some fun waves to ourselves until a seal showed up! Later in the day we went on the search for some more seals and we found a whole bunch hanging out on a rock formation off Cuttyhunk. There were definitely a mixture of different types of seals which included mostly gray and harbor seals. In this episode I will assemble the first packs of 18650 cells. The configuration is 80 cells in parallel. (1s80p) I try to explain in which order I put these cells in a pack and what alternatives there are. In the end of this episode I will have 7 packs ready for soldering. This could be used for a 24V system. However my target is 14 packs to build a 48V system. It should become 14s80p Powerwall.

Am Ende der Pam Bok Street kamen wir zu langen Bambusstegen, die über Reisfelder führten. Überall hörten wir das Plätschern der Reisfelder-Wässerung, sahen wir die flatterten Schmetterlinge über dem satten Grün der fruchtbaren Felder und beobachteten wir die Arbeiter auf den Feldern. Das Flattern der bunten Fahnen machte diesen Platz für uns perfekt. Wir liefen den gesamten Steg ab und kehrten danach bei Locals in einer Kommune zum Lunch ein. Die Familie verbreitete eine so stille und friedliche Stimmung, dass wir uns auf ihren Teppichen am Fußboden sehr wohl fühlten. Wir lachten mit den Männern, die von den Feldern zum Mittagessen kamen über die unterschiedliche Anwendung des Chilis beim Nachwürzen der Nudeln. Während wir nur einen Hauch über unser Mittagessen streuten (und das gerade so aushielten), schaufelte ein Arbeiter solange Chili unters Essen bis alles rot war. Seine Kollegen lachten über unsere erstaunten Blicke und wir stimmten mit ein  Nach unserer ausgedehnten Mittagspause schwangen wir uns wieder auf den Roller und peilten aufgrund der Mittagshitze den Wasserfall ganz in der Nähe an. Wir stellten unseren Roller am Parkplatz in der Kurve ab und liefen die Stufen zum Wasserfall hinauf. Begleite uns auf unserer Reise um den Globus 🌍. Die Replik des legendären königlichen Rennkutters "Britannia" ist zurück in englischen Gewässern. In Cowes auf der Isle of Wight wird der Holznachbau aus russischer Kiefer nach einer irrwitzigen, 19-jährigen Odyssee nun neu ausgerüstet. Und in zwei Jahren wird sie hoffentlich endlich Segel setzen können. Wir waren als erste internationale Segeljournalisten an Bord und haben uns auf dem 45-Meter-Renner umgeschaut.

Die französische Werft Dufour bringt mit ihrem neuen 36-Fuß Performance Cruiser überzeugende Novitäten und pfiffige Details auf den Markt. Und auch der Speed stimmte beim Exklusiv-Test vor La Rochelle.

Knotenkunde für Segler

Die 16-Meter-Yawl "Taifun" wurde einst bei A & R gebaut – als "Rubin". Heute ist sie als Schulschiff der Marine im Einsatz. Bis zu acht Offiziersanwärter und -anwärterinnen lernen hier die klassische Seemannschaft. Dass die 62-jährige Dame dabei manchmal etwas zu Schaden kommt, bleibt nicht aus. Wir waren zum Besuch auf der Schiffswerft Barth, und haben die Übergabe an die Marine begleitet.
