I set out to capture something special — the summer solstice sunrise at Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. Staying overnight in the National Trust car park, I didn’t expect to share it with paddleboarders arriving at 3am, ready to see the sunrise from the calm sea. By the time I walked the mile to the cliffs, more paddleboarders and a few fellow photographers had gathered — all of us waiting for the first light. In 2024 Edward Curry Hyde and Scott Robertson both completed their first Sydney Hobart race as double-handers. It was an initiation by fire, given the very tough conditions of that race, but undaunted Edward has returned this time pairing up with the very experienced Lincoln Dews. They completed the race in good shape, presently lying third in the IRC Doublehanded division and an impressive 4th overall on IRC.
