From crystal-clear waters to hidden beaches, airplane wrecks, and pig-filled islands—this leg of our adventure had it all! We set sail from Warderick Wells and made our way south to O’Brien Cay, a spot packed with incredible snorkeling, secret beaches, and some pretty wild surprises. 🐠 The Aquarium – Thousands of fish, the most unreal snorkeling experience! 🛩️ Sunken Plane – Brent swam through it… definitely a little eerie but super cool. 🏝️ Johnny Depp’s (ex) Island – Apparently, he sold it to J.K. Rowling? Either way, we weren’t exactly invited, so we found our own epic beach instead. 🦀 Hermit Crab Beach – So. Many. Crabs. But adventure aside, we were running dangerously low on fresh food, so it was time to move on. Staniel Cay, here we come! 🛥️ Staniel Cay – Time to stock up, meet up with friends, and explore! 🐷 Pig Beach – Because no trip to Staniel is complete without feeding the famous swimming pigs. 🌊 Sandbar Playdate – One of the best sandbars we’ve ever been to, and the ultimate kid boat hangout spot. And for those wondering how we homeschool on a boat—spoiler: it looks a lot like homeschooling on land, just with way better recess. 😉 Next stop: Black Point! 🏝️ Black Point – A quiet spot with a great little restaurant 🌬️ Blow Hole Hike – Surprisingly better than the last one we saw, which was, well… not great. 👣 Softest Sand Beach – No joke, the softest sand we have ever felt under our feet. And finally, the grand finale—my beach bonfire birthday. 🔥🎂 Brent made my only wish come true, and surrounded by good friends, glowing embers, and crashing waves, I can honestly say… this was the best birthday ever. The entire Superyacht Cup fleet made the Bay of Palma their arena today as Europe's longest-running superyacht regatta hit its stride with another day of sparkling Mallorcan sailing conditions. Pantaenius Race Day saw slightly lighter breeze than Wednesday's opening races for the J Class, but the 11-strong fleet showed their mettle in a hard-fought three hours-plus coastal race, with the outcome of the three class contests in doubt until the final legs on each course.

Sea Ray 440 - Soundproofing Boat Engine Compartment with Soundproof Cow - Motor Yacht Cruising Video
Boating Maintenance does not always have to be difficult if planned correctly. With two large Marine Cummins Diesel Engines as well as a Westerbeke Diesel Generator the sound levels in the cockpit have been unbearable. Soundproofing the boat engine compartment is critical. We are replacing 1994 heat insulation on our liveaboard with 2019 Sound Dampening Technology which includes a heat shield and sound shield from SoundProof Cow a leading soundproofing company. This should make our Small Motor Yacht Cruising more enjoyable in Palm Coast Florida. We hope you enjoy this Motor Yacht Cruising Video.

Will We Ever Get A Break From The Cold?? - Episode 331 - Acorn to Arabella: Journey of a Wooden Boat
Thanks to Lumen for sponsoring! To get 20% off go to https://lumen.me/ACORN and start improving your health today. -------------------------- A friend in need is a friend indeed—especially if your friend is also on a wooden boat! This week’s episode opens with Steve tendering out to the Schooner Hindu, where his friend Josh and his crew are happy to borrow Steve’s stern anchor and a few extra feet of line while they wait out a blow. Warmer weather is calling, but Steve and Robin (and even Akiva) can’t forego the opportunity to take a few American Sailing Association (ASA) certification classes with Captain Scott from Bow to Stern Boating. It’s cold—some might even say TOO cold for man overboard drills—but they get through it, and successfully retrieve “Bob” using a variety of different techniques. The ASA certification courses, along with the opportunity to handle sailboats other than Arabella, was incredibly helpful in developing Robin’s skill set and confidence. We highly recommend Bow to Stern Boating for your ASA certification course, your next charter, or just to have some fun sailing on the Neuse. While Steve won’t leave Oriental with a shrimp tour under his belts, he and Robin will both leave with their ASA 101 and ASA 103 certifications—and with an inch of ice in the harbor! Robin escapes to Florida for a work thing, and Annie B. and Jack are granted permission to come aboard. First stop with Annie B. and Jack is Beaufort, but just for a night. The crew needs to keep moving, and the weather forecast—which they gathered using a few different tools, like PredictWind and NOAA—looks good enough, and everyone feels comfortable making a run south to Charleston. Steve explains the anchoring process–with the storm coming in, he wants to make sure their anchor is picture-perfectly set. Stay tuned next week, as the journey south continues. There’s warm weather somewhere, and they’re going to find it! -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A!
