In part one you saw us realize that we had a serious issue, as we completely lost rig tension. Well, this episode reveals the actual cause of this, how we found it, and some ideas as to why it happened. The main bulkhead which supports the mast has cracked, and the hulls have moved outwards, causing the rig to go completely slack. At the same time, the bridge deck has collapsed, and the salon floor is now floating above the hull. This is going to need one hell of a repair... The Axopar line of open day and cabin boats are built in Finland, a country known for building rugged sailboats and powerboats. Axopar has combined the pilothouse and open commuter/patrol boat concept popular in Northern Europe with the hull shape and styling that we have seen coming out of Southern Europe. These blunt-bow, slab-sided, open-transom, mostly day boats are being built all over Europe now. They range from the super-luxury Pardo brand (which we have tested), to the Axopar brand with models which are far more economical to buy. The Axopar brand is now available in the U.S.

The Everglades challenge is a 300-mile unsupported, expedition style race for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. You must propel your craft by either man power or wind, and you must be able to push your boat off the beach yourself, all of these things making it one of the most difficult small boat races in the country. The Tallulah canoe seemed like a perfect fit and we wanted to see if we were up to the challenge. Come with us as we try to avoid pythons, gators, dead fish, and a big black wall of doom!!
