We’ve started our journey to Annapolis, MD. After leaving Georgia we traveled to St. Catherine’s Sound Inlet. Due to an unfavorable wind direction we chose not to raise the sails. And doubly unfortunate the engine would not reach maximum rpm. Changed our plans to go to Sunbury Crab Restaurant and Marina as it was dark and navigation up the natural channel would be winding and shallow. Anchored and awoke to a beautiful bird show in the morning. Next leg was to a safe harbor in Thunderbolt, GA, where we had a diver check the prop and clean the bottom of the boat. Margarida is keen to learn to spear so I rig a gun for a her and give her a lesson. She ends up impressing me no end with her breath hold and her relaxed unhurried stalking on the bottom. End result, she spears her very first fish. We test out our new dodgy smoker to smoke the fish and surprisingly it works a treat. The day ends at sunset with Margarida taking a nudey bath at the back of the boat with a 3 meter crocodile swimming close by. Want more? We're starting to wonder if we've bitten off more than we can chew 😬 Haul outs are always a struggle, so we really shouldn't be suprised at this point that everything always takes way longer and turns out to be more difficult than planned. We had our trip booked to Sweden already to visit Kazza's family, and we wanted to get as much done as possible while Ryan was still there to help, so with the clock ticking we put our heads down and went for it (with of course a few minor moments of distraction when a dune buggy was calling my name...) But ready or not, we make the long journey to Sweden which was soooo amazing. We didn't film a whole lot while we were there because we wanted to take the time to focus on family and have a much needed break from filming and sharing everything all the time, but it was truly a special trip for us. Sierra absolutely loved getting in some quality time with Mormor, seeing snow for the first time, and just generally having time and space to run around and explore. We were able to really recharge our batteries, which was great because we still had a lottttt of boat work waiting for us when we returned to Mexico! This video is about sailing Whale Cay Cut, and to a lesser extent, about Tambi's nude beach experience. Don't worry - strategically placed pixelation obscures her bareness during that brief scene. (It's just for fun - also be sure watch to the very end.) Whale Cay Cut is a place that we have been a little apprehensive about transiting because we've heard that it can be a very dangerous cut. It's a place where a "rage" can occur - which basically means huge, unpredictable waves can really beat you up, or even sink your boat. Yeah, it's serious business, but thankfully our sail through Whale Cay Passage was an uneventful one. After we successfully transit Whale Cay Cut, out intention was to sail to Manjack Cay. That plan had to change when the wind direction was unfavorable for the anchorage at Manjack, so we modify our plan and head to a small, unnamed beach a few miles South of Manjack. Turns out that particular beach was "nude friendly". Typically Tambi isn't the kinda gal that runs around buck naked on Bahamian beaches, but I guess she was feeling a bit wild. While Molly and I hung out on the boat, Tambi took the dinghy (and camera) over to the beach for a little time to herself. Enjoy! Then we motored across the Grand Bahama Bank in very calm conditions, the water was so pretty and blue. It was 80 miles over the Bullocks Harbour in the Berry Islands. After finding cracked bulkheads on my Lagoon 450 catamaran, right when we were about to sail across the pacific, we had to turn around, come back through the Panama Canal, and haul out in Linton Bay Marina, to try straighten the boat, before commencing with the fiberglass repairs. The boat had bent 40mm downwards along the centerline, bringing the hulls upwards, and cracking many other bulkheads along the way. This series will show never before seen footage of how we straightened and strengthened a 45ft production catamaran, in order to be able to complete a circumnavigation.
