Join us as we set off on a 5 day adventure to the Sahara Desert. It was touch and go if the authorities would allow us to be in the desert with 37mph winds and sandstorms forecast, but they did, and we experienced everything the desert could throw at us. It even rained, which is pretty unusual, being 13 years since this kind of rain had passed through before. Lessons were learned, one being don’t plan to spend any more than 1 hour maximum on the back of a camel, it is uncomfortable, painful, and definitely not a lot of fun! There is a reason the Bedouins only use these animals for transporting loads! We visited an animal reserve in Christchurch, New Zealand. I only filmed a little footage in horizontal movie format. The rest will be broken up into a dozen vertical shorts. If you love seeing cute animals, check out our shorts from Willowbank Reserve NZ and Cremshaw Wildlife Park in Perth, Australia. The capybaras were so much bigger than we thought they would be. They were very chill. They are the largest mammal in the rodent family. Mammals are warm-blooded, have fur and nurse their young. Rodents have specialized self-sharpening teeth. The eels were very happy to be hand fed. There was one very large blue-eyed eel and several medium sized eels. The ducks tried to get in on the action but were disappointed we did not have any duck feed for them. They were quite a few deer at this animal reserve but they were tucked away under the shade of a willow tree.

Cast around 1252 during Japan’s Kamakura period, the statue originally sat inside a large hall that was destroyed multiple times by typhoons, earthquakes, and a tsunami. By the late 15th century, it was left exposed to the elements, creating its distinctive open-air presence today. The statue stands 13.35 meters (43.8 feet) tall including its base, weighs about 93-121 tons, and is Japan’s second-tallest bronze Buddha after Nara’s. Key features include 1-meter-long eyes, 1.95-meter ears Hasedera Temple Figures Hasedera boasts hundreds of small Jizo Bodhisattva statues at Jizo-do Hall, symbolizing protection for children’s souls, including those miscarried or stillborn; over 50,000 have been offered since WWII, with hundreds displayed annually before burial.

The work of maintaining a boat doesn't end once it goes in the water. There are always maintenance, upkeep and repairs that need to be made. Some work can only be done while the boat is out of the water. Many projects can be done while it is in the water. This weeks episode is a bit special. We set sail to Al Rams to discover and explore a new region we haven’t seen yet in our beloved Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. We didn’t really mention anything regarding the US-Israel-Iran conflict in the video itself, we thought it’s better to make the video about what we stand for, sailing. However, two hours in the sail we heard the first missiles getting intercepted above the UAE's territory. Scary? Absolutely! But did we ever really feel threatened? Not really. The UAE's Air Defence did (and are still doing) an amazing job at keeping the people safe. As expats it is a great feeling trusting a government which excels in leadership under pressure. The past few days at the anchorage where only every now and then interrupted by a loud bang of an interception, besides that, it was a great time here. We met super nice people, enjoyed great food and relaxed a bit with a premium view on the mountains which makes Ras Al Khaimah unique to us. So yes, the UAE is a safe country to live in and a great country to sail! Right now, we hope the situation will get better soon and try to keep living our lives as normal as possible. This episode is for everyone, also for the ones affected by the conflict situation we are dealing with right now.
