In this episode, we share the emotional turning point that lead us to let go, trust the tide, and sail onward. Along the way, dolphins joined in to cheer us up, a hike across Stocking Island to say goodbye (for now) to our favorite beach, and I left behind one of Lucy's Heart Rocks as a symbol of love. In late summer we visited the Marsa Shagra Village near Marsa Alam in the south of Egypt. Most of the time we dived from shore to explore the beautiful house reef in front of the village. From time to time we hopped on a zodiac to visit places like Abu Dabbab and the epic Elphinstone Reef, where we met a very friendly Giant oceanic manta ray during two of our dives. Marsa Shagra is definitly worth visiting because of the outstandig diving conditions. The fifth video covers the first part of the 4th leg of our long journey. Was our advanced wx forecast accurate? What wx did we really have and was it expected? We are using PredictWind.com new Departure Tool to help us sail in good conditions during our sailing passages from Philippines to Tahiti, with Bob McDavitt as extra ace before long & crucial passages. On our way from Noro in the Solomons, we traveled across all of the Solomons to check out of Lata. From there we sailed direct to Santo to clear in as Sola was not open for check-ins. We had to be very patient in Santo to get ok conditions to sail to Port Vila. Filmed in May to November 2025. Next video will cover leg 5 from Vanuatu to Tonga.
