It is time for another update. We are currently facing a list of tasks that seems to get longer and longer and longer and longer. A winch is not working properly, some material is delayed, a broken backrest needs fixing, marking the anchor chain and and and. Well, seems like this is what "glamorous boat life" is all about. Chasing a dream that is scary and yet beautiful. Even though some things are not working as anticipated, we are enjoying the ride! The Layla Del Mare Project is so much more than "just a boat". It is our goal to build a fully self-sufficient catamaran, incorporating the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), and showing all of the UAE and abroad that there is a life on the water waiting for you, you just have to dare to jump!

Reupload: We have good news! We passed the coast guard inspection and have everything in order to bring the boat to our friends boat yard to work on her - or do we? Working with agencies can sometimes be...lets say more demanding than anticipated. Really nice on the other hand was our visit at Al Bateen Marine Training Institute for our practical training. Its great to work with professionals :-) We'll see what the future brings, enjoy this episode!

What a stressful time to get everything in order - in the end it played out very well. Thanks to the RAK Coast Guard, RAK ports, Customs and AEOLOS Yachts, we are now finally in RAK and get everything prepared to lift our beautiful Layla Del Mare out of the water. We are the FIRST privat boat that moored in the RAK Ports. We. are looking forward to becoming a role model for maaaany more boats - lets grow this community of sustainable boatbuilding! Now the real work begins...
