Impossible Dream was fortunate to connect with the sailing community in Naples FL this past March. Thanks to the generous efforts of our Naples Port Ambassador Jeff Gage, we were able to share the joy of sailing with the Collier County Adaptive Sailing Program participants. Patricia Rosen organized three packed sails aboard our barrier-free catamaran. We hope you enjoy this video recalling the great times all the disabled sailors had aboard The Dream.

20th Blue Water Rally reunion! Join us for a heartwarming reunion across the Atlantic. In this video, I share highlights from our voyage to France, reconnecting with sailing friends, and exploring the region of Vaux-sur-mer on the Atlantic coast of France. The reunion was made even more meaningful by a moving speech from our organizer, Glenn, that reminded us why this community is so special. On the way home, we stopped in Spain to visit friends from the GLYWO rally and to visit BioTrek once more. Can you notice what is different about BioTrek? Leave your ideas in the comments. Come aboard and relive the journey with us!
The Allen factory, based in Southminster, Essex in the UK, makes many of the deck hardware and fittings that we use in our sailing, be that on dinghies or keelboats. The team are constantly innovating - designing new products, trying out cutting-edge manufacturing techniques - all with the aim of making our time on the water more enjoyable. On my tour around the factory with Ben Harden I met a passionate and dedicated workforce using a range of machinery, from the traditional to the latest in CNC machining and 3D printing. The team also support grass roots sailing, and I took a look at how they were helping Otter Week at nearby Burnham-on-Crouch. There were a few surprises along the way as well. For example, did you know that Allen made masts? They also work with the stuntman industry! Enjoy this look around, seeing how some very familiar fittings are produced, as well as some you may not have seen. #sailing #manufacturing #rigging #yachting
#58 République Dominicaine 2 : on talonne 3 fois ! Baie Samana : magique, contraste, mer difficile !

‘Whimaway’ is a 2012 Catalina 445 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/catalina-455-whimaway This is a rare find, being a larger and later model Catalina in impressive condition with a very solid inventory. Clearly Catalina’s offer a more traditional and solid cruising yacht when comparing to some European options. Think lead keel, shaft drive diesel, raked bow and reverse or sugar scoop stern, and even a swept back lead keel. This is a very comfortable and solid cruiser. The cockpit is practical and familiar with the large electric genoa winches easily reached from the twin helms. The big folding cockpit table still offers clear passage when walking from the open transom to the companionway. The solid dodger was factory fitted and protects the cockpit in all-weather plus includes a link sheet to the custom stainless Bimini. The Bimini houses solar panels, and removable dinghy davits. The interior is beautiful and practical – an elusive blend. The real and solid timber cabinetry combined with lots of natural light makes for a very inviting space. The large ‘L’ shaped galley includes separate fridge and freezer and proper deep sinks plus loads of intelligent storage options. The beautifully varnished saloon table lowers to make an additional double berth. There are three cabins with master forward including private ensuite. The starboard aft double berth is offset to maximize both cabin and bed space. The port aft cabin can either be used as a double, or storage space, plus there is an additional third bunk berth above. Standing rigging was replaced in 2022. ‘Whimaway’ was anti-fouled in July 2025. The in-mast furling main was new in 2020. There is a furling MPS (cruising spinnaker) with neat retractable snubber pole. There is a bow thruster (tunnel, not drop down). Instruments are extensive including auto-pilot, AIS, and two plotters. ‘Whimaway’ offers a very solid and comprehensively specified cruising platform. Equally, she is easy to sail.
Siamo ufficialmente in navigazione nelle acque Australiane! 🗂️ Beacon to Beacon Great Sandy Strait https://www.msq.qld.gov.au/beacon-to-beacon-guides/fraser-coast-guides 🗂️ Beacon to Beacon Moreton Bay https://www.msq.qld.gov.au/beacon-to-beacon-guides/moreton-bay-guides BUON DIVERTIMENTO! For the whole month of February, I'm shaving purely with UK produced soaps. Today's shaving soap is Phoenix and Beau Spitfire. It's said to replicate the smell of a world war two Spitfire pilots. leather, tobacco and engine oil. The razor is the Rockwell 6S 24 Carat, gold plated Safety Razor set at R5. There are only 500 of these razors worldwide. Today's blade is the Gillette 7 o'clock. Brush is DS Cosmetics Green Bamboo. Aftershave is the matching Phoenix and Beau Spitfire. This was a three pass shave. With the grain, across the grain and against the grain. Come along and see how I get along.
