I had a lot of questions about cruise ships, so in this video I chat a bit more about them. These days are long gone sadly! No more 500 passengers per ship who spent their life savings to be there, now like 5000 per ship for the price of the monthly call bill. Right after Peggy's Cove where I spent more or less the whole day (about 6-8 hours) I headed further South. One hour later I made it to Chester - a beautiful small town on a coast, spent there the rest of the day, strolling down the streets, visiting downtown Chester and a local yacht club .... Next morning I left Chester driving South to the next destination, taking the same scenic route along the coast ... ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Our Ginger Shantytown is a Catamanan Cocktails origianl, but the the inspo totally came from the Death and Co.'s Shantytown recipe. The Ginger Shantytown is a VERY loose twist on a Boilermaker style cocktail. What's a boilermaker, you ask? The Boilermaker is traced back to blue collar workers over 200 years ago. They'd drink one after a long shift. By definition, it's is a shot (of whisky) in one glass and a beer in another. You can either down the shot of whiskey then drink the beer, OR, you can dunk your shot of whiskey right into your beer, and chug. In recent years, bars have been getting super creative and experimenting with their pairings. Lauren's vote is a shot of mezcal with a light pilsner. Or how about Campari with a raspberry sour ale? (Yes, please to both!). For us, we went with a freshly filled growler of Ginger Cider from the West Indies Brewery Company- AWESOME place to hang out, btw! And paired it with Blue Light Caribbean Gin and mashed up apples. Super fun and easy to make, and really refreshing on a hot day.

A nice lazy Afternoon in the sun. No wind today, so it took me ages to tack across to the other side of the lake and moor up at the the Adventure centre for the first time. A spot of lunch and then I spedn the rest of the morning getting back to base.
