À son bord, une nouvelle capitaine : Isabelle, qui a fait ses premiers bords ici même, lors de son baptême en mer. Après une journée de formation en Catboat, elle a rapidement pris ses marques. La voilà déjà à naviguer en toute autonomie — une vraie gazelle, libre, fière… et désormais intégralement lancée ! Nous étions aussi accompagnés par Héloïse, notre matelot (bien plus qu’une simple stagiaire aujourd’hui ). Its been a busy season on land! Yep we covered over 50,000 miles and 48 states (most more than once) in 3 months. We made tons of new memories and some amazing friendships across the entire country. My son graduated High School, We spend the summer with family and friends and focused on a sustainable future for our adventurous lifestyle. While I am amazed with what we have accomplished this year, along with all the places and things we have seen, I am still yearning for the ocean and the freedom of the sea and the wind and look forward to sharing that part of our Journey again soon!

We race once again from the ICW, no wake zone to One Tree Island. Competitors: Free Spirit is a 2023 high field dinghy with a 25 hp Yamaha motor, Viscaya is a Nautica 15 ft, 70 hp dinghy and finally Sea Girl is a 2023 West Marine rib dinghy with a 15 hp Yamaha motor… Who’s coming in 1st? Once the race is finished we set off to the local beach for a celebratory drink at a resort and park the dinghies before heading off to the local yacht club for Viscaya to finish out the evening. We ran aground and hit as we attempted to enter the anchorage... We spend our last days in Recife working on finally installing the new windlass we bought earlier on our sailing trip. After we finished the work we continue sailing north along the Brazilian coast to an anchorage at Itamaraca. As we enter the river we end up on a shallow sandbank. We managed to get loose and anchored at the river. We spent a few days exploring the area, hanging out with locals and doing dinghy excursions. When we ar about to leave we use the dinghy to map up the inlet, so not to run aground a second time! After spending about a week there we found that we really like the city; lots of Brazilian vibes.
