O segundo dia da 50ª edição Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela foi marcado pelas homenagens ao atleta olímpico Eduardo Souza Ramos, que deu nome às regatas desta terça-feira (25) realizadas no norte da ilha. Um dos maiores incentivadores da vela nacional, Eduardo Souza Ramos viu de perto a disputa entre os 130 barcos inscritos nesta que é a maior competição náutica da América do Sul e tem como organização o Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI). Souza Ramos é responsável direto pelo desenvolvimento técnico e evolução da modalidade oceano na América do Sul. O velejador, que se aposentou da modalidade aos 79 anos nesta temporada, é também o maior campeão da Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela com 11 conquistas. We stay at a beautiful well protected anchorage in Corsica and go for a hike along the beach. We then leave and sail 70 miles to free docks in Sardinia to find Lenny dog food, the docks where amazing right in the city centre of Olbia, there was also a nearby laundromat we were able to get all our washing done at! We ate some fantastic pizza and set sail again small Italian islands off of Sardinia with some amazing anchorages.

Chef Day and Adventure Day! With Kevin's father Brian and aunt Diana aboard, the cruise of Phuket Thailand continues. First, Chef Day. We stop in Krabi and join a Thai cooking school for a day to learn how to make authentic Thai food. This was a great experience and we gained some really useful information about Thai cooking ingredients and cooking methods. The next day we set out for Adventure Day, with a cruise to a lot of really cool islands in Pha Nga bay. With stops at: - Koh Hong (Krabi)....seeing maybe the largest Monitor Lizard I have ever seen, as well as a great stairway to a lookout over the islands. - Koh Pakbia, for snorkeling and paddleboarding. - Koh Roi, with its secret 'Hong' (a hidden area within the bounds of the rocky island) in the mangroves. - Koh Phanak, with its long bat cave and barely accessible hong. Before leaving for Disneyland our family watched some home movies of my trips to Disneyland as a kid. I loved how they were small clips of us in the moment throughout the day, often with longer clips of shows (90's Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers on stage) and lines for rides. Rather than adding in music and voiceovers, I thought this one would be fun to have just as it was. They are short clips, because that I rarely have my phone out for longer than twenty seconds. The ride clips are favorites of ours that we have thanks to my brother's strong grip on his phone. There is no such thing as a 'last' job, because maintenance never ends on a boat, but recommissioning our diesel generator is essential if we want to be continual cruisers on the canals and waterways of England! It's been held up by a broken bolt that we need to drill out and retap, but finding someone to assist was proving difficult. Fortunately, along came Matthew of Thorne Boat Services on the Stainforth and Keadby Canal. Taking this opportunity, Jamie moved our widebeam canal boat through Thorne Lock and downstream in high winds to the workshop. But fixing the bolt is only half the problem. When we initially ran the generator, it was cutting out after just a couple of minutes, so something was clearly wrong. Jamie suspects the thermostat, so he sets out to clean the cooling system, which, it turns out, was filthy!
