Depois de reiterar por muitos anos que nunca teria um animal na minha casa, uma cadela pariu na porta da minha residência e fui "obrigado" a cuidar da mãe e de dois filhores. Não gostava desse bicho. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Dive trip to Nassau, Bahamas! We dove with Stuart Cove's Diving Bahamas on The Wall (6500 foot drop off) and a 3-wreck site. The visibility was incredible and bottom temp 77 degrees in April. Fabulous dive team!
Finally, after spending a week in Boot Key in Marathon we get a weather window to head north. We cruise on the Atlantic 45 miles to Tavernier Key. We anchor for the night there before continuing north the next morning 115 miles to Lake Worth Inlet. @TheMeriCrew sail SV Frolic to the beautiful island of Guadeloupe! What a wonderful place to spend time. The island's high volcanic peaks, lush forests filled with flowers and exotic plants, and beautiful surrounding waters made every day here a joy. We anchored for several nights in Deshaies, the location where the BBC series Death in Paradise is filmed. It is a welcoming little town with some great restaurants. A short walk away is a wonderful botanical garden. This was also our base for a land tour of the island with William of Pelican Tours. We also anchored in the area between Malendure beach and Bouliantte. In this series I hope to eventually document, via time lapse, the entire trip from Delaware City, DE to Miami, FL. It's primary purpose is to allow fellow boaters the chance to scope out an area that they may be traveling thru for the first time. On another windless day, we begin a quiet journey to Tobermory, the hum of our engine the only sound breaking the silence... well, there was some colourful language when Jon discovered a diesel leak.... Upon arriving in the picturesque harbor of Tobermory, we picked up a vacant mooring buoy. Now we were safely tied up, I turned my attention to the engine and tackled the pesky diesel leak. Armed with gasket paper from our onboard supplies, I made the necessary repair by cutting out a new gasket and soon the engine was purring smoothly once again.
