Every night I have to pull my dinghy out of the water and every morning I have to put it in. I take it out of the water so that sea creatures don't grow on it. The tension on halyard caused by holding the dinghy up makes it sing like a guitar string when the wind blows which makes a really annoying sound inside the boat, so I wrap another line around it to cut the vibration.

Multihulls have got the wind in their sails, and Spain is no exception to the rule: its coastline and the nearby Balearic Islands are a classic Mediterranean sailing destination for yachtsmen on two or three hulls. From the America’s Cup to boat shows in Palma, Valencia and Barcelona, Spanish boating is becoming increasingly significant in Europe. That’s why Andrés Oliva and Valentina Libri, influential players in the sector, decided to set up Multihull Fest, the first show dedicated to multihulls. Port Ginesta was chosen because of its prime location just a few miles south-west of Barcelona, and because it is one of a group of multihull-friendly Catalan ports reserving a substantial number of berths for visiting multihulls. Despite the lateness of announcing the date, a large number of exhibitors - both sales and charter companies – were there in force, with over 15 units on display. Our Boat fridge stops working and we need to repair it fast. Our beer is warm and all the food needs to be thrown away. We learn how to repair a Dometic boat fridge and how to stop it happening again. We also install a Sirocco fan and put some very new cupboard handles in our master cabin. Sampaguita's (a 1985 Pacific Seacraft Flicka 20) built-in fiberglass water tank under the quarter berth developed osmotic blisters. I decommissioned it and installed a bladder tank under the V-berth, a new galley foot pump, and new plumbing.
