As Christmas nears we spent last weekend getting the boat ready for Christmas. Deb and I have prepared for Christmas before and typically just had a small table top tree, but this year we wanted to have a large tree where Santa could put gifts under it for the GrandSquids. We actually got a 7 foot tree up in the boat :) See us prepare and decorate as well as bake some holiday cookies. Music in this episode was from a great musician from Hawaii. Proyecto de I+D basado en la colaboración, en jugar a sumar. Todo gracias a un apuesta firme y decidida del: Cabildo de El Hierro, Endesa, Gobierno de Canarias e Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias. El problema de las energías renovables es que la naturaleza no nos las entrega cuando nosotros las queremos consumir. Por ello es necesario diseñar sistemas de acumulación energética. En Gorona del viento utilizan la energía hidráulica como vector energético, bombean agua de una balsa inferior a otra superior cuando la producción es superior a la demanda, y turbinan el agua de la balsa superior a la inferior ciando la energía del viento no cubre la demanda. Además la hidráulica sirve como regulación en los picos de bajada de producción eólica. ¡Enhorabuena por este gran y precioso proyecto!

Enjoying every time on my WETA, no matter what the wind conditions are. There is always something to improve and I mainly find it out after I am watching the videos I recorded. It has been a great day out again, with very low winds. In this video I am testing camera angles and the use of FCPX Software to synchronize the two angles of the cameras and show the outcome on a split screen. I am new to FCPX. I like the SW, gives a lot of possibilities but also needs time to explore all this. Any feedback is welcome. The cameras I am using here, an old GoPro fixed on the Gennaker pole and a Insta 360 OneX at the stern. In the video I am playing around with boat handling, tacking with reduced speed loss, balancing the boat by moving the weight at time and position. Trimming sails and testing my Cunningham modification. The conditions as mentioned low winds, very tricky, lots of wind shifts.

She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming.
