We take 3 days to cross to the Exumas. The first day starts off OK but gets really rough as the day goes on. Logan climbs the mast to fix our jib and after some playing we get stuck on the boat for 3 days due to rough seas. Can't take the dingy out, can't snorkel can't leave the boat. We decide to take a break and go into Highborns Cay Marina. It was a rough sail with pretty confused high seas, but it was only a 45 minute run. We really hope you enjoy! Ever wonder what the centerboard of your sailboat looks like? Here is what the centerboard of Reverie, our 1985 Pearson 34 CB looks like. We also shared with you a URS (unexpected rudder surprise). When we rebuilt the rudder the guys at the shop did a great job on the rebuild. The one thing we did not accounted for was the amount of clearance needed between the rudder and the hull. Of course, we were not able to assess this until we re-installed the rudder. Check out what we had to do.... For those of you considering buying a boat with a centerboard, one of the most important things you can do the minute you buy it inspect and replace the pendant. The pendant is the mechanism that allows you to bring the centerboard up/down. It consists of an attachment bracket, a pin, a wire/rope/combination of both line that leads to the cockpit, a winch or pulley system to give you leverage depending on the weight of your board. On Reverie the system is pretty simple, but we needed to inspect the board itself to assess the condition and also to clean the centerboard trunk for painting. On this video we will show you the centerboard and the mechanism as we pulled it from the boat. Thank you very much for watching our videos. Australasian farmers and food suppliers are among thousands of local businesses hit by the ongoing suspension of cruise operations, with losses to the Australian economy now surpassing $5 billion over the past year. The video features national wholesaler Select Fresh Providores, one of Australia’s key suppliers of fresh fruit and vegetables to cruise lines. In it, the company’s Group General Manager Steven Biviano explains the huge effect the suspension has had, not only on his own business but also on farmers and regional communities. In peak season up to 50% of Select Providores' business was generated by cruising, and that farmers and other producers needed time to plan crops for cruising’s return. The health protocols cruise lines have developed in response to COVID-19 are among the most stringent in the world and are already operating successfully in several other countries. Now is the time for the Federal Government and states to finalise a timeline for a carefully managed, phased resumption so businesses like Select Fresh can plan their recovery. #WeAreCruise

In this episode we undertake our final major passage on Assarain IV, brining her from Nassau Bahamas to New Jersey, USA. From flat seas with no wind, to lightning storms, we have a wide range of weather and conditions, and get to experience following winds and seas in the Gulf Stream, where we get average boat speeds over ground of over 10 knots at times. We encounter dolphins, a US "warship", got inked by a squid, blew out a soft shackle, and more. After having to motor much more than expected, we are nervous about our fuel consumption so we make a detour to Atlantic City, NJ for a night before continuing north to Atlantic Highlands where we complete our slow-delivery mission. A team of Great Adventures Reef Biosearch marine biologists joined the global Coralpalooza™ event celebrating World Oceans Day by outplanting hundreds of coral fragments at a Green Island dive site. Coralpalooza™ is the biggest international day of collaborative action for coral reefs and building resilience to climate change. For the first time, Australia has participated in the event, partnered by The Great Barrier Reef Foundation and Coral Nurture Program with the aim to assist recovery and research at high-value reef locations. Over 45 divers from tourism operators on the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Port Douglas and the Whitsundays participated to plant more than 6,700 coral fragments on the day. Phil Coulthard Great Adventures Reef Biosearch Manager said, “It was a very satisfying day to take part in something so important with a global impact. As Coral Nurture Program partners, we planted around 330 coral fragments at our Green Island “New York” dive site. “On a healthy reef, it’s normal to have some broken coral so these “fragments of opportunity” were first collected and then attached to coral colonies using an innovative CoralClip® that allows them to be planted quickly and with good survival rates.” This work is part of CNP’s aim to plant more than 100,000 corals by 2024 and work with local Reef communities to develop the tools to help coral reefs adapt to climate change. Long-term monitoring is critical to the success and researchers will continue to monitor the sites to better understand the impact coral planting has on reefs and their marine life. This will help determine where and how to target efforts to assist recovery at high-value reef locations in the future.

The team on Going to Red made great time on our 54.7 NM delivery from Bangor to Port Headland. The breeze was out of the West as we left at 6am in the morning, it was quite fresh as we skipped across Belfast Harbour on our way North. As the sun rose and the tide switched around to help us we were getting around 7 or 8 knots over the ground. Mid morning the breeze switched around and filled in for the South East. We popped up the A3 and had a great ride up towards port headland. With that breeze building to up to 18 knots true we accelerated to between 10 and 12 knots over ground which made short work of the trip. With the autopilot taking care of the business it was great to take some time out to show you all what we were up too. The team at bottom up boats hope you stick around for more action over the next week as we get into race mode for West Highland Week.
