Bonita receives new flexible solar panels from Solbian and takes them over to a sail maker - Kore Sails for installation. Aaron from Kore Sails lets Bonita use his sewing machine to sew them onto the bimin. She take you through the process of how to sew the solar panels onto the bimini. Aaron comes up with a design, creating a weatherproof flap to cover the panels cables. She then takes the bimini and the solar panels back to the yacht. Yosh comes home from working away to assist her with the rest of the installation. We put the bimini back onto the yacht with the solar panels attached and get started with wiring them up. Yosh tells you specs and information about the solar panels. He shows you how he wires them hidden in the bimini and down the staunchen pole. The cables run down into the yacht and through to the navigation table. He installs the control panels. We announce that we are not ready in time to make the down-under rally due to our boat-work not being completed in time. We are sailing to New Caledonia by ourselves and will meet up with the crew from the rally in New Caledonia. In today's episode, we spend 24 hours living with the locals in their tiny village in the Solomon Islands. Our journey begins in Santa Ana, a remote island in the southern Solomon Islands, where we prepared for a one-and-a-half-day sail up to Honiara. Once we arrived in Honiara, we were picked up and driven for 4 hours to the remote village known as Aola. The crew and I were a bit nervous to go so far off the beaten path to a place that no tourists ever really visit. However, we were extremely excited to experience a totally different and unique way of life. Every 2-3 months we bring a new crew of novice sailors on board. People who want to explore the other side of their comfort zone. Well, we take them under our wing, teach them how to sail, and explore some of the less explored parts of the planet together. We really just ask one thing of them: help us leave the most significant impact possible along the journey. Amongst the many islands and communities we have visited, we have met some of the most positive, kind, welcoming, and innocent people imaginable. These people are often so generous and special, however, they often times lack basic necessities - proper clothing, health care, medicine, etc. We want to have the most profound impact possible. But to do that we need your help. First, subscribe to the channel and join the community. Tom Slingsby's Australia SailGP Team's hopes came crashing down on day two at the Oracle San Francisco Sail Grand Prix, as a catastrophic wing failure forced them out of contention, marking a devastating end for the Aussies in San Francisco. Thankfully all the sailors were accounted for and no injuries were reported. Thumbnail photo by Jason Ludlow for SailGP.
96 Sanlorenzo SL96 Asymmetric [NINIPOPXL] Specs + Photos: https://hubs.ly/H0SCd-20 Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Asking Price: $9,400,000 Alex G. Clarke / (203) 722-3047 / Alex@DenisonYachting.com The Sanlorenzo SL96 Asymmetric yacht is a step forward in modern yacht building technology. Interior volume is expanded across the entire main deck thanks to the asymmetric design, substantially increasing the size of the salon and master cabin. The décor throughout this new design has been very nicely done by design specialist Marty A. Lowe. Upon entering the salon from the aft deck, you are welcomed by a full-service bar with an ice maker, refrigerator, and plenty of space to display or store your favorite beverages. To the port side of the salon is the dinette space that easily converts into additional seating with a coffee table while not in use for dining. At the push of a button, the bulwarks on the port-side lowers to reveal the large, unobstructed floor-to-ceiling windows for a great view out to the sea. The large sofa is located to the starboard side of the salon, facing the large flat-screen TV. This four cabin layout, with a main deck master stateroom, comfortably accommodates nine guests along with four crew. The VIP cabin offers a full beam width with all the features and comfort typically reserved for a master cabin. The two additional guest cabins feature twin beds that can slide together when needed, along with one of the cabins featuring an additional pullman bunk. 96 Sanlorenzo Specs + Photos: https://hubs.ly/H0SCd-20 Alex G. Conny van Rietschoten returned to the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1981-82 determined not just to defend his title but to win both line honours on every leg, and the overall race on handicap. Impressively, with his Flyer II, he was able to accomplish just that. He also had some young and impressive young talent on board to help him on his quest, including Grant Dalton, who would go on to become an icon of the race in his own right, while Sir Peter Blake skippered his own campaign for the first time. The most dangerous thing while sailing, one might think when travelling & living on a sailboat are big waves, anchor dragging and strong winds, but nothing beats THIS ONE - A silent force that can really get you into trouble and put a sudden stop to your Sailing Adventure. *Want to help us continue making videos ?" That's right, no grocery stores for us. As the Virus continues to put life on pause, we venture off in our backyard in search of mutton Snapper. Hang out with us while we drop down live ballyhoo on the some deep sea reefs here in the Florida Keys.
After four incredible years of liveaboard life, 22 countries, and over 12,500 nautical miles, we’re selling our sailing boat, Teulu. What started as a dream to sail around the world became something f
HOBIE said FISH THE WORLD and we did. (Part 2 - Australia, California) We landed and released four-foot Pike in the shadows of castles in France and beneath the windmills of Holland. We laughed a lot and learned about fishing the French Broad and the farm ponds of North Carolina with Bass Fishing Hall of Fame member Hank Parker. In Australia we landed fish we had never heard of like the slate grey Sooty Grunter and fish well never forget like the Barramundi. Join us as we pedal the Pro Angler and the fleet of Hobie Kayaks on the Oxbows of the Mississippi, the Lower Owens in the Eastern Sierras, the Louisiana bayous, Corsica, and down the west coast of Baja Mexico.

https://www.patreon.com/user?u=19042899 We finally made it back into the water after spending 2 weeks on the hard ripping apart out boat. First stop Prudhoe Island, but we got a little surprise when the first things we saw was shark nets and coal... The content in this video may spark debate, but to us its important to speak our truth, and highlight aspects of life where we think injustice occurs. Life on the ocean is an adventure, it’s also a place for deep reflection. Over the course of many hours in a long discussion between one another, we knew we had to share this powerful video with the world, so here it is. If you want to put the pressure on the QLD government, please click the Local QLD MP link below. Locate the closest area to you in which drumlins and shark nets occur. Please email them, and inform them to why you want to see the nets and drumlines gone and replaced by tried and tested non-lethal alternatives in QLD waters. If you are wanting to find out more information about the nets I encourage you to watch The Shark Net Film by Holly Richmond (link below). Every Australian needs to see this documentary on the governments ineffective and cruel shark mitigation strategy. - Local QLD MP List: https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/members/current/list?fbclid=IwAR1BiZ-dpahD_kw-12MrhmvDOrxsqGactN3IxRKmMuw-KEIhET8X3GqTop0 The Shark Net Film: https://vimeo.com/354361839 - A little bit about us: "The Mer & The Man is a marine conservation based project aiming to support the mission of greater worldwide ocean sanctuary and protection. Our goal is to help shed light and encourage action on current global environmental issues the ocean is facing. These environmental issues will be the core of our conservation content within our adventure blog 'The Mer And The Man’. The issues we will be covering include; Plastic Pollution, The Fossil Fuel Industry, The Health Of The Great Barrier Reef, Ending The War On Sharks, and Education and Awareness. A little bit about us… Emily is 21 and currently studying a marine and environmental science degree and is a passionate free diver and ocean conservationist. Sage is 21 and has lived on his dads boat for 10 years and has salt running through veins and a very enthusiastic way of being. When we met we decided we wanted to live on the ocean together, go on crazy adventures and raise awareness about important issues at the same time. We hope we can help our viewers connect more with nature and encourage adventure wherever you decide to go in life. For nearly a year, we haven't been able to do work on our salon - but now it's time to make our U shaped settee complete! **If you would like to help with our build, take a look at our Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2B2BOYEH9THAH/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1 In this episode we focus work in the salon, and specifically the back of the settee. This is an area we haven't been able to touch in over a year because we had to wait for the compression post to go in before we could close it off. Back in the fall Matt had pieced together pieces of our foam core to make up the 2.8m (7.5 ft) seat back. Since it's a tight area that would be very difficult to glass behind once it is in place, Matt made flanges and bonded them against the supports. Then they were buttered up with our TotalBoat structural putty (thickened polyester resin) and the seat back placed against it. Cleats were drilled into the base of the settee to keep the back taught against the flanges as it cures. The next day Matt was able to go back and glass the front portion to the surrounding settee, using two sheets of our 12 oz double biased fiberglass. We were excited to get fairing compound on here, meaning we can start up work once again in the salon and galley to get the priming and painting process underway. But...before we could get too far there, our work was disrupted by 'The Storm'. (Check a few posts back on our Facebook or Instagram page for a little more info on that.) Now work in the salon has come to a halt....but we can't share all of that with you just yet. We hope you enjoy!!

Arabella makes her way down the Jersey coast. Steve, Robin, and Peter (a friend from Boothbay, Maine) brace for colder weather, wearing as many layers as possible. Luckily, they are literally making their way to warmer weather each and every day. Making great time, the crew reaches the mouth of the Delaware River and prepares to stop in the Cape May Inlet for the night. The friendly folks at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve offer them a spot at the dock. It just so happens that there’s an oyster packing company just a few steps away, so Steve enjoys a good time shucking 100 oysters. Sometimes, it works out not always having a plan. Along this journey, Steve has been able to visit some pretty cool places and meet some pretty cool people. Being able to explore the restored 1928 oyster schooner A. J. Meerwald is such a different experience from hearing stories and looking at photos. Before taking off, Peter helps turn Arabella around so that Steve and Robin can continue on with ease. Plus, learn how you can track Arabella’s progress. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A! After spending the night anchored in Vinišće we get up to a wind shift, start to raise the anchor to reset as the anchor did not not reset well with the 180 degree change. Half way through raising this squall hit at 50-60 knots with heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Our dinghy is an Eastport Nesting Pram, and it was designed by Chesapeake Light Craft (CLC) in the USA. We purchased the dinghy as a kitset in the UK - the European distributor for CLC is a company called Fyne Boat Kits. They're based in Cumbria. If you prefer to do the whole process yourself, you can buy the plans on their own. "Piwakawaka" is the Maori name for the native New Zealand Fantail, a bird which often follows people in the forest (like a tender follows a yacht). These birds are small, cute, agile and very useful (they eat insects like mosquitos and flies!) As an added bonus, the word "Waka" on its own means "canoe" or "boat", so we though the name was quite fitting. www.clcboats.com www.fyneboatkits.co.uk Enjoying our channel and want to support us?
