Vlog #13 We sail from Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz and check out the town, its really nice but access to shore is extremely hard. You used to be able to anchor out by the pier and leave your dinghy tied to it, but you're no longer able to as its damaged. So we had to go all the way to the marina in the dinghy, and walk back into town. We left there and sailed onto San Simeon, which was not the original plan, but Jess seen there was a giant castle there and really wanted to see it! We ran into a huge pile of bullkelp in the middle of the night that set us back 3-4 hours on our journey. We had read online that it was wayyyyyy to hard to surf land your dinghy at San Simeon, and most people that tried flipped theirs, but not us! Champions! We went up to the Hearst Castle for a tour, truly this was an indescribable place. The only way to really get it, is to see it for yourself! Hearst was building it for decades with an architect, and it was never even finished before he passed away. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. 18 months have passed since we brought Ragdoll home, spent months doing repairs and dealing with surprises and even got some sailing done! In this video we head out to Tradition, with Skip and his daughter, to start the bottom cleaning process, fix the exhaust and organize the rigging. We have about three weeks to get Tradition ready to motor out and around the buoy at Keehi Lagoon, in order to pass her yearly inspection with the DLNR. There is a good chance that we will take on water through Tradition's corrupted drive shaft packing gland. We will have to be ready for anything!

Penton Hook is Britain's largest inland marina, set in 80 acres and with 575 berths. It’s on one of the loveliest reaches of the River Thames, close to the vibrant town of Staines-upon-Thames and about a mile downstream from Runnymede where King John signed the Magna Carta. The site provides has four first-class facility buildings, which include showers, toilets and full disabled facilities. There are purpose-built pontoons for narrowboats and Dutch barges, including a number of moorings for vessels up to 30 metres. По прибытии и перед высадкой на берег купались.... в 11:30 высадились на берег, забронировали место в кафешке и поднялись на вершину горы погулять по крепости. После экскурсии по крепости пообедали в кафе на берегу бухты и вернулись на катамаран ... В 4 часа дня взяли курс на амалфитанское побережье Италии... After an exciting, nail biting, edge-of-our-seats conclusion to the 2024 season which marked 12 glorious years since the world’s leading grand prix monohull circuit started in Barcelona in 2012, the 52 SUPER SERIES again follows the preferences of its passionate, committed owners in 2024 with an itinerary which is a mix of popular proven locations which offer a good variety of racing conditions. For the first time the circuit visits Newport, Rhode Island, one of sailing’s real epicentres where two regattas will be raced, hosted by the historic, famous Newyork Yacht Club.

Episode 069 The Mamanuca Islands are a volcanic archipelago and consist of approximately 20 islands and are a popular tourist destination. They have stunning coral sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and coral reefs. Their natural beauty has made them favourite among the film industry. The movie Castaway was filmed here as well as the long running television series Survivor. Mololo Island where Musket Cove is also forms part of the Mamanuca Islands. Today, we’d be sailing to Navadra and Vanua Levu Islands, approximately 9 nautical miles south of the Yasawa Islands.
