Ultimately it was Julien Bentz’s J/99 Whimjy 99 that crossed the Cherbourg-en-Cotentin finish line at 00:42 local time to take victory after IRC time correction by 19 minutes. “It changed a lot and was really difficult over the last 24 hours, because the conditions were shifty and the current challenging,” Bentz commented. “It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but we fought until the end and it paid off. “For most of the crew it’s our first Fastnet, so it's a great achievement. We have been working on this project for two years and, while it was a mix of intense racing and adventure, there was also a lot of discovery for us along the way. What was their winning formula? “A mix of many things of course and we prepared very well for two years. While in a marina, it's never getting boring. There is always work and fun. Writing articles and books on the one side, on the other some boat jobs are waiting. Like replacing some parts of the wire of the railing to stainless steel to add some more solar panels for the coming watermaker. Sometimes we invite friends for a day trip or meet other sailors in one of the beautiful anchorages. Time for the SUP world games for untalented sailors. Or we just enjoy live music in the marina, especially the Kas Jazz Festival.

Depois de reiterar por muitos anos que nunca teria um animal na minha casa, uma cadela pariu na porta da minha residência e fui "obrigado" a cuidar da mãe e de dois filhores. Não gostava desse bicho. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Como sou aventureiro por natureza, resolvi criar um desafio: sair de Morrinhos, GO, e chegar até Paraty, RJ, onde mora minha filha.
