We were told that due to it's age it would need to be serviced every year at a cost of £600 so we have decided to buy a new one and use this one as a learning tool. Kayaking the San Juan Islands, an archipelago in the Pacific Northwest between Washington state and Vancouver Island of Canada. The large group, also dubbed The Floatilla, consisted of 12 adventurous paddlers. We traveled 3 days and 2 nights by sea kayak, enjoying the nature and wildlife: bald eagles, seals, starfish, crab and deer included. I hoped to film an orca pod but was not successful. We did see offshore spouts on our second night of camping but could not identify the source. I will return next year with a better plan to encounter a pod. We have been sailing the coasts of Scotland for the last few years, enjoying each and every Scottish island, nook and cranny. In spring of 2023 we have moved aboard Ragdoll and left Scotland for the warmer climates of the Mediterranean. There is no set route or plan. We will go where the wind and life take us.
