Her current owners are only the second owners since new. They cruised extensively from the US, visiting the Caribbean islands and the coast of South America, travelling through Panama to the Pacific Islands and on to Australia in 2014. Since then, they have sailed the Great Barrier Reef seasonally and done a cruise to New Caledonia. Exceptionally well-equipped and maintained, Le Mistral has four spacious cabins that provide ample accommodation, including two queen cabins forward and two huge aft cabins that can be converted into four single berths. In addition, there are two single berths/ storage space each side midships. Her spacious saloon features a large U-shaped dinette, forward-facing navigation station and galley up that overlooks the cockpit and boasts an abundance of refrigeration, a dishwasher, a three-burner gas stove and oven. Le Mistral is powered by twin MD22 Volvo 55hp diesels with approx. 3000 hours and Seahawk 3-blade folding props on sail drives. Her 2018 sail wardrobe comprises a fully battened Hydranet mainsail, furling Hydranet genoa and two socked spinnakers. Standing rigging checked and replaced in 2020. Additional features include a washing machine, watermaker, genset, wind generator, 800Ah gel batteries with 600w solar and 4000w Mastervolt inverter. There is also a Caribe 10ft tender with 5hp Mariner outboard plus good navigation and communication electronics. Le Mistral has the original Catana 471 folder and manuals, notes, receipts etc. and there are many spare parts, including general hardware. As 2024 ends, we set sail again for the traditional Xmas and New Year sailors gathering on the Dutch Island Terschelling. As usual, sailing during winter is slightly more challenging when heavy winds, hail, rain, and wind gusts tease our Willem Johannes. We have an extra crew on board the 66-mile sail to the island and meet up with friends, both K9 as well as human :-) Celebrating Christmas and New Year on Terschelling has become a beloved tradition among Dutch sailors. The island offers a unique blend of winter sailing adventures, festive activities, and cozy island atmosphere during the holiday season. The marina comes alive with beautifully lit boats, creating a convivial atmosphere among sailors. Nous arrivons à St-Martin pour embarquer un petit cousin. Mais nous rencontrons aussi enfin la chouette famille franco-belge du catamaran EastWest (Instagram : nomad_family_aboard_eastwest) avec qui nous passons de super moments : snorkeling, balades, apéros et entraides. Enora, leur équipière du moment, les accompagne car ils ont 4 filles de 10 mois à 7 ans ! Quel plaisir d’entendre leur rire et leurs cris ! Sous l’eau, les aînées sont déjà de vrais petits poissons. Avec eux, nous traversons vers Anguilla, tandis que Ludovic prend ses repères sur Orion. Là nous ancrons devant une plage de carte postale : eau turquoise et sable blanc, et non loin, tarpons et requin ! Malheureusement, un premier blessé à bord : Ludovic se déboite l’épaule en nageant près du bateau (il a l’habitude, c’est la troisième fois que ça lui arrive !) : il faut rapidement trouver un médecin et heureusement Lien (qui est neurologue) et Romain d’EastWest viennent nous aider. Le médecin local (super sympa et efficace) avec l’aide de Lien, replace rapidement l’épaule de Ludo. Ouf ! Deux jours de repos il sera de nouveau prêt pour le snorkeling. On prend ensoute la mer pour les BVI – Iles Vierges Britanniques – une nuit et une journée en mer, sous spinnaker, presque la nav parfaite !

*Prada got adopted!!!!* I want...... no NEED! For this wonderful, amazing, great dog "Prada" to be adopted to a loving forever home somewhere far far away where it's much colder than it is here in the Dominican Republic! Here's the deal: For the past couple months I've been volunteering with the Coconut Hound Haven in Luperon the Dominican Republic. This place is a sanctuary for dogs that have been abandoned, mistreated, mal nourished, or left to starve. This is the place that's cleaned up the streets of the little town, and helped give so many dogs a second chance at life. They do an absolutely amazing job, especially considering the limited resources they have to work with(donate if you can please). When I first started volunteering I'd help walk, socialize, and play with the dogs. Yes that is what they call helping out, and it's very much needed. But I just call that fun. I got to pet & play with dogos! However, I soon started realized I could do more. I could help specific dogs get adopted using my social media channels. So that's what I did. In particular I've been focusing on Prada. A 3 year old, 60lb pure bred Shepard/Huskey 50/50 mix. And she has been doing amazing! Camden Markets are one on the busiest and most popular markets in London. To get there is very easy. On the tube, take the Northern line (it's the black line on the tube map) to Camden Town. Exit the station and turn right. The markets are straight ahead. Naturally there is allot useless junk for sale, but if you look hard enough you will find that unique, possibly hand made item to take home. There are loads of stall that also sell vintage and retro items for the collectors and hipsters. The best time to visit the markets are on any weekday, unless you like very crowded markets. Arrive around 10:30am (most of the stalls only open at 11:00) grab something to eat for brunch and start exploring. Just north of the canal, head left. You'll find a small square on your right with food from all over the world (across the canal from Starbucks). By far the best place to buy you brunch or lunch. If you are looking for a cheap meal, be at the oriental food stall just before closing, around 5:30pm. All those food stalls (they will beg you to taste their food if you walk past) sell their food at very low prices at the end of the day. In the evening there are many bars along Camden High Street, Parkway and the surroundings for any taste, from blues to rock, to quench your thirst with a good english ale. #London #Markets #Travel

Bat Island in Costa Rica is known for large marine life and large schools of fish. Did see a manta ray and several large schools of fish. My friend saw a bull shark. Very rough diving with low visibility and strong currents. Almost an hour boat ride to the dive site, but fortunately the seas were calm.

Nous avons été saisis par le spectacle des innombrables et immenses glaciers. 2 650 sont répertoriés dans l'archipel du Svalbard. Ils sont presque tous en régression sauf le Tunabreen , (23 km de longueur, présenté dans la vidéo) qui lui a progressé de 2 km en 12 ans. Il est très actif et produit en permanence des craquements impressionnants suivis de chutes d'énormes blocs de glace qui se transforment en "growlers" ou "bourguignons" , plus petits, mais très nombreux, empêchant l'approche du front glaciaire.

Melges IC37 Class members descend on the waters of Newport, R.I to crown their first-ever National Champion. Since the Class’s on the water debut in June, sailors have had their eyes set on this premier event and making their mark on the its history. This milestone event, hosted by the New York Yacht Club, will test competitors through eight scheduled races, across three days, in the very same waters they have sailed in all summer long.

Benedikt Clauberg's Swiss First 47.7 Kali finished the RORC Transatlantic Race on 11 December, completing the 3,000nm race in 18 days 08 hours 28 mins and 18 secs. Kali was competing for the second year in a row and beat their finish time for 2018 by nearly 18 hours. “It feels great to beat our time from last year as we have been working hard on the performance of the boat,” commented Kali's Benedikt Clauberg. “This year was much harder due to a lot of squalls, but we have a very enthusiastic team who wanted to change sails even when they were tired, and that made a difference. It feels like coming home when we arrived in Grenada because we know Charlotte (Fairhead) and all the C&N Port Louis Marina staff.”
