Day 1 of the 2022 MOCRA Nationals with 17 boats out on Plymouth Sound National Marine Park. Dem Wetter geschuldet, spielt sich der Refit hauptsächlich zu Hause in der Werkstatt ab, der Waschtisch bekommt eine Tropfleiste, der Bau des neuen elektrischen Schaltpanels wird begonnen, zu guter Letzt montiere ich noch die neue Badeleiter Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. We motor-sailed from San Diego, California to the San Francisco Bay area. 10 days, 111 hours at sea and 470 nautical miles. The uphill battle against wind and currents, sailing north on the west coast is no pleasure cruise. Since I bought Dilly-Dally in September 2018, I haven't seen the Moody 425 on the hard. I was a little bit excited, when we lift the boat out of the water for the first time after three years. I estimated about one week of work on the new underwater paintings. Surprisingly after three days the main works have been done.
