Ce jeudi 16 novembre, à 08h 49mn 19s, Lalou Roucayrol et Alex Pella ont franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 13e édition de la Transat Jacques Vabre en première position de la catégorie Multi50. Le duo aura mis 10 jours 19h 14mn et 19s pour parcourir les 4 350 milles théoriques depuis Le Havre à la vitesse moyenne de 16,81 nœuds, mais il a réellement parcouru 4 671 milles à 18,02 nœuds. Lalou Roucayrol est probablement le skipper ayant le plus navigué en multicoque après 30 années à sillonner les mers du globe ! Il signe sur cette 13e édition de la Transat Jacques Vabre sa 9ème participation et sa première victoire… La Transat Jacques-Vabre, aussi appelée La Route du café est une course transatlantique en double (équipages de deux marins) qui se déroule tous les deux ans depuis 1995. Ce samedi 18 novembre, à 21h 11mn 46s, Jean-Pierre Dick et Yann Eliès ont franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 13e édition de la Transat Jacques Vabre en première position de la catégorie Imoca. Le duo aura mis 13 jours 07h 36mn et 46s pour parcourir les 4 350 milles théoriques depuis Le Havre à la vitesse moyenne de 13,63 nœuds, mais il a réellement parcouru 4652 milles à 14,55 nœuds. Et de quatre ! A 52 ans, Jean-Pierre Dick s’offre une 4e victoire sur la Transat Jacques Vabre. Une première dans l’histoire de la Route du Café. Cet as de la course en double avait fait appel à Yann Eliès sitôt le Vendée Globe bouclé afin de s’aligner au départ du Havre archi préparé. Ils étaient 6 Imoca à pouvoir l’emporter, la course s’annonçait difficile et c’est bien ce que l’on doit retenir de cette 13e édition. Une victoire certes, mais ô combien méritée face à des équipages affûtés et diablement accrocheurs, et un SMA toujours aux aguets. Trajectoire parfaite, maîtrise spectaculaire des chausse-trappes de la météo et du parcours, symbiose entre les deux hommes, foiler huilé par une équipe à terre de haute voltige, tous les paramètres étaient réunis pour l’emporter. Am 29.06.2018 fand das Richtfest vom neuen Clubhaus statt. Auch während des Krantermins am 03.11.2018 wurde fleißig weiter gearbeitet! Wir heißen zwar Segler-Club Oberspree e.V (SCO), liegen aber an der Unterhavel. Das der SCO an der Unterhavel liegt ist Umständen zu verdanken, die typisch für die Berliner Geschichte sind. Gegründet wurde der SCO am 24. Juni 1906 im Restaurant "Zu den drei Linden" in Grünau. 1912 wurde die Große Rohrwall-Insel in der Dahme, am südöstlichen Rande Berlins gepachtet, gleichzeitig wurde der SCO Gründungsmitglied des "Deutschen Segler-Bundes", der später in den Deutschen Segler-Verband aufging und stellte dort für zehn Jahren mit Robert Höfer sogar den Bundesvorsitzenden. Der Große Rohrwall nun ging nach dem Krieg in die Verfügungsgewalt der DDR über, was die im westlichen Berlin wohnenden Mitglieder motivierte, 1954 den "Segler-Club Oberspree e.V." in West-Berlin zu gründen. 1966 konnte ein Grundstück in Berlin-Kladow gepachtet und wenige Jahre später mit einem in Eigenarbeit erstellten Clubhaus ausgestattet werden. The Spanish rice "Caldero" is a typical dish of the Mar Menor, and the recipe dates back to the 19th century when the fishermen of the region used to prepare it on the beach, using the small fish which were not good enough to sell in the markets and is a dish steeped in the flavors of the Mar Menor itself. It is traditionally prepared in a Caldero, a cauldron-style pan from which it takes its name. Today we are cooking on the classical wooden boat with Miguel 86 years old man from Cartagena Spain. This was one of the moments you can’t buy. Miguel aged 86 showed us how to cook “Caldero” He was born and raised in this area. Cartagena, Mar Menor. First, you fry pimiento in olive oil and crush it down with garlic. Then you fry different fish. Then you give a lot of water to it and make a broad. l have been away for some time from video making. l was preparing myself for about one year, to join my friend on her sailboat, to sail from Stockholm to the canary islands. It is a big chance for me, to gain experience on these difficult waters, with strong currents and traffic. In this series, you will see a lot of everything, the story will be about Silvija who has circumnavigated the world and built her own boat, her story and the crew who is very experienced and less experienced. Sir Donald Trescowthick helped establish and produce the first 20 years of the Westcoater race to Hobart. Today, on the start of the 50th anniversary race to Hobart, crews completed a sail past giving 3 cheers to Sir Don prior to heading once again to Hobart.

In this episode, we continue our End of 2022 Adventure. Prior to departing for Avalon, we discovered the windlass motor was failing. We cancelled our original plans to sail to the northern Channel Islands (including San Miguel Island). Our alternative plan is to sail to Ensenada, Mexico. We have a Small Craft Advisory calling for 15 to 25 knot winds and 8-10 foot waves. All day Wednesday and extending into Thursday morning before tapering off to light winds. We choose to take a route near San Clemente Island, further offshore to keep us along the wind bands for better sailing. Weather conditions remain favorable and we have an excellent sail to Ensenada.
