We head up the east coast of New Caledonia to Kouakoue Bay and snorkel on the best and healthiest coral we have ever seen. Leaving early in the morning we sail across to Lifou in the Loyalty Islands. Stopping in the lovely protected bay at Drueulu we stop at the tiny supermarket, and seek out the chief. While snorkelling on the nearby Dentist Aquarium, a local comes out by boat and tells us to stop swimming and move on! One of our absolute favorite stops in the Caribbean is Dominica. It is a beautiful island with 20 volcanos and 365 rivers. Some of the most amazing fruits and vegetables we have ever seen are grown here and sold in Portsmouth at a large market on Saturday. It is not the easiest island to get to (though there is a direct flight from Miami), but it would be a wonderful place to spend a week on vacation!

We went out for a short sail due to the lack of wind. It was a beautiful early Fall day out on the water. The excursion got exciting when we were "stopped" by the Wis. Department of Natural Resources Game Wardens. We were actually floating at a nearly dead stop due to the absence of wind. We assumed that the Wardens had nothing better to do that morning and we were an easy target. They checked us out. No citations. No warnings. They did inquire about our lack of numbers on our bow. We are registered through the US Coast Guard so no bow numbers. Our US Coast Guard Documentation Number is affixed to the hull in the interior of the boat as required by law. So all good all around. And the Wardens got to document in their records that they stopped and checked us. This was the first time since 2013 that we've been checked by the Wardens. I apologize that we didn't post any of the video of the stop. I thought it best not to do so for the benefit of the Wardens.
