Both our Sailing catamarans, Moreton Magic (Seawind 1260) and Moreton Maiden (Seawind 1160) went out today with families to sail from Sandgate, Brisbane to the Gold Coast and back for the week. Here is a look into the boats getting off docks!

Living aboard a yacht and in a motorhome with four kids. We have rented out our house and set off on our 34ft yacht for six months of cruising in NZ and will be home schooling our four kids. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

The Crinan canal runs from Crinan to Ardrishaig, and is used mostly by yachts travelling from the Clyde to and from the Western Isles. It is a regular dog walking spot for us, and this time I had my drone! As we sail north to British Columbia, our boat, somehow, gets so turned around that we literally sail it backwards across the border into Canada. Friends Cheryl and Garth join us for the passage from Seattle to check in to Canada at Bedwell Harbour on BC's Pender Island. Episode 1 of Season 4.

In today's episode, we are sailing to the Arnarvon Islands to help 200 baby sea turtles survive. The Arnarvon Islands are home to the largest sea turtle sanctuary in the Pacific and over 2000 sea turtles nest on its beaches per year. The Hawksbill sea turtle typically lays around 100 eggs per hatch. So you may think, wow that's a lot of sea turtles, how could they possibly be endangered? Well, the reason is that from the time of birth, the baby sea turtles have a 1 in 1000 chance of survival. The reality is that it is extremely difficult for the babies to survive. Oftentimes, baby sea turtles die before they even reach the ocean. And the ones that do make it to the ocean, have to fight the surf to make it out to sea, and from there they face hundreds of predators. Despite the low odds and many dangers for the babies, the hatching process is extremely beautiful. In today's episode, we are lucky enough to witness two nests hatch. In the days leading up to the hatch, we helped keep watch over the nests and defended them against predators like alligators and poachers. Aussi, vous aurez peut-être remarqué la perte de qualité de certaines images. Ma plus grosse caméra équipée d’un zoom a un problème en mode film. Elle reste bloquée sur un faible ISO, ce qui assombrit énormément les images. J’ai éclairci les plus potables en postproduction, mais la perte de qualité est bien notable. Durant les 2 ans de notre balade en voilier, j'ai utilisé 2 types de drones pour filmer: Des drones FPV bricolés par moi même beaucoup plus rapides qui se pilotent "en immersion comme si on était dans le drone" avec des lunettes FPV (First Person View). Ce type de drone plus rapide nécessite au préalable des heures d'apprentissage sur simulateur sinon c'est le crash assuré... Un drone "grand public classique" stabilisé DJI Mini 2. A vous de voir les différences dans les prises de vues. D'un côté en FPV des prises de vues plus rapides et engagées pouvant suivre au plus près les reliefs, d'un autre côté des prises de vues plus tranquilles et linéaires, Il s'agit là d'une compilation de quelques séquences filmées en drone depuis 2 ans qui agrémentent déjà mes précédentes vidéos plus quelques unes inédites. It's a project we started because the old rear cockpit table was yet another Leopard Catamarans / Robertson & Caine warranty fail, and the upstairs one had a design that could easily be improved to more functional in our daily lives as full-time liveaboard sailors. In this episode, straight from the hardstand in Trinidad, we get to vacuum bagging sections of the table. It's a new process to us, involving a variety of vacuum bagging supplies such as peel ply, sealant tape, bagging film, breather fabric, mold release, resin tubes and a vacuum pump, all to ensure the vacuum bagging process goes smoothly. The goal to infuse West Systems epoxy resin into the carbon fiber to create DIY catamaran tables that are strong, functional and light.
