The ice was piling up as Sardinha 2 reached the last stretch of land. I heard heavy breathing behind me. Then another. Then dozens. A pod of 30 or 40 humpback whales was following us. They came so close I could have touched them. The water was green and milky. If I could see beneath the surface with a microscope, I would see the sea ice nourishing the ocean with minerals and phytoplankton—the foundation of all animal life in the Arctic. The sea ice that posed a danger to me was responsible for the flourishing of all species.

Impi is sailing around the world and New Caledonia has become our most 'returned to country', not only for its beauty and amazing friendships forged, but also largely because of one abandoned island dog called Moose (Mouss). The dilemma we now face is to discover when the appropriate time would be to remove Moose from his island and persuade the authorities to allow him to be moved to a land based home. We have debated this issue with some authorities here in New Caledonia and were advised that after numerous attempts to remove Moose from his island - they eventually decided to leave him there because he displayed such an unwillingness to go! Now we have engaged Guy Kane, the flying vet who regularly treats Moose against pain to ask for his opinion. We hope this movie will mean something to you all - Moose certainly is a very unique and special dog and considering his future really is one that tugs on our heartstrings. This inner city jib contest hosted by Vans Europe's Russian street rider and ambassador Nikita Sekh was set during a friendly backyard party outdoors – it all lasted for 5 hours! Vans Russia built some cool figures and rails, including kink rail with pole jam, donkey rail, a big wall with a creeper rail, etc., whereas the most catchy object was a vintage Russian Volga car – the craziest riders jumped it in the final hour. Spend an afternoon with Drew and Zach Lyman, brothers and family members of Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding. Lyman-Morse is a custom boatbuilding company on the coast of Maine, founded in 1978 and over 150 vessels to their name. For the Lyman family, boats and the ocean have always been part of life, not just the family business. A day aboard the LM46 in Newport with two of the Lyman brothers is a pretty good reminder that we don’t just build boats.
