#kitesurf #kitesurfing #howtokitesurf #welovekitesurf We manage to get another Kitesurfing lesson just before we leave Alvor. After a little recap we get on and try to get up again. After numerous attempts we get going for a few meters, a good progress but far away from being on the kite board yet. The plan now is to get some gear in the UK and adventure ourselves on the cold coast in England. Please let us know about the best equipment for beginners and good spots for kite surfing around the coast. We are really enjoying this life and sharing everything with you it's been wonderful . Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

A quick technical breakdown of jib sheet lead angle and the function of the clue board. The hole you select on the clue board determines the vertical angle of the jib sheet. This angle controls the draft and twist of the sail by changing where the sheet's force is applied relative to the sail's center of effort. In short: The line from the block should lead roughly to the jib's center of effort for balanced trim on a given point of sail. Selecting the wrong hole will incorrectly flatten the foot or over-tighten the leech, hurting performance.
We visit the smallest island with only ONE UMBRELLA on it! We are still having an absolute blast with Adriaan on board, smiles and laughter all around. We showed him another small island, with only a bar on it, built entirely on conch shells, and blow his hair back when we anchored next to a state of the art super yacht in Union Island. We were fortunate enough to spend almost a week sailing a Fountaine Pajot Saona 47. We had an absolute blast onboard the boat. There were so many things we loved about the boat, and a couple of things I wish they would do slightly different. For information on chartering a Saona 47, anything in the US Virgin Islands, or the Caribbean as a whole please contact Laura for more information: Laura Jagielski Laura@CatamaranCentral.com 802 233 4773 For information on buying a catamaran or selling a catamaran please don't hesitate to reach out. Bay Harbor Catalina 42: https://youtu.be/cK6AKFukhfQ?si=NbE4bkgbrq9FYYjP The $100K Cruiser Showdown: How the Catalina 380 Stacks Up: https://www.practical-sailor.com/sailboat-reviews/catalina-380-comparison/ You see them everywhere — the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, all across the Caribbean. The Catalina 42, especially the Mark II, has quietly become one of the most common cruising sailboats in warm-water anchorages around the world. In this Practical Sailor boat tour, we take a deep, honest look at why. We cover the full history of the Catalina 42, from the original Mark I through the Mark II evolution, including where and how these boats were built, what changed over time, and why mid-2000s boats like the 2006 models represent a particularly mature version of the design. We’ll talk construction, handling, interior layouts, shoal draft performance, and the real-world ownership factors that matter if you’re considering one today. This isn’t hype, and it’s not nostalgia. It’s a practical look at how a sensible design, refined over decades, became one of the most successful Caribbean cruising boats ever built — not by being flashy, but by being right. If you found this helpful, give it a thumbs up — it really helps, and it tells YouTube you want to see more sailboat videos like this. And don’t forget to subscribe so we’ll see you next time. Practical Sailor is your trusted resource for reviews of sailboats and sailing gear. https://www.practical-sailor.com Chat with us on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/PracticalSailor/
