Jane quickly discovers this is no ordinary walk — the trail includes over 600 steps, some at a 45-degree angle, making it completely inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. Time to say goodbye! Selling boats is never straightforward! Since the upcoming sale of Intrepid Bear had generated a fair bit of interest we booked 2 weeks ashore as soon as we got back in order to do some underwater work, allow for viewings and for potential buyers to carry out surveys. We quickly bought a car and then a caravan to live whilst we decluttered (as well as for future breaks), and in no time at all we’d received an asking price offer. Since nothing is straightforward with boats there followed much hoop jumping, stress, 2 weeks ashore became 4 until finally it was done - she was sold! After seven weeks on our mooring in Huahine, we finally dropped the lines and headed to town to stage for our overnight passage to Moorea. The problem? We didn’t have a great weather window—but we booked a humpback whale swimming tour, and we really don’t want to miss it. For the next 24 hours, we watched the forecasts closely, debating whether we should go. The window looked possible, but definitely not ideal. Après une dizaine de jours passés avec les parents d’Andrée-Anne, il est temps pour eux de rentrer au Québec. ❤️ Cette fois, plus aucune visite en vue : on peut enfin s’attaquer au cœur du problème de notre moteur. Dans cet épisode, Romain démonte complètement le système et prend un énorme risque : il doit désolidariser le saildrive du moteur pour ouvrir le pied et en extraire la clutch. Une réparation aussi technique que stressante, car à la moindre erreur, Amacela pourrait littéralement couler. Un épisode rempli de défis mécaniques, de stress et d’apprentissage.
