Every year, workers are seriously injured or killed during confined space entries — and most people don’t realize how dangerous tank inspections actually are. In this video, I take you inside a Ship's Water ballast tank inspection to show what we professionals deal with on site. Limited space, low oxygen, poor visibility, and zero room for error make this one of the most dangerous environments to work in. This isn’t a movie scene. This is real inspection work, real safety procedures, and real risk. If you work in: • Industrial plants • Oil & gas • Fire & safety • Engineering & maintenance • Confined space operations …this video is for you. #ShipWaterBallastTankInspection #BallastTankInspection #MarineInspection #ShipMaintenance #ShipInspection #MaritimeSafety #ShipRepair #WaterTankInspection #VesselInspection #ShipsAndVessels #MarineEngineering #CargoShipInspection #BallastWaterTank #ShipSurveying #MaritimeEngineering #ShipOdyssey #VesselMaintenance #ShipLife #ShipSafety #MarineInspectionVideo #ShipFleetManagement #ShipSurveyors #Shipowners #NavalEngineering #ShipTechnology #ShipInspectionRoutine #MarineVesselInspection #ShipUpkeep #WaterTankCheckup #MarinerLife ⚠️ Remember: Confined space entry without proper training, gas testing, ventilation, and PPE can be fatal.
Join Jude and Richard from Sailing Helios for a full walkthrough of the brand-new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 455 straight from the Düsseldorf Boat Show 2026! This 45-footer (LOA 14.28 m) is already one of the stars of the show — it had an incredibly strong debut with 8 boats sold on the floor alone. Jeanneau has nailed the perfect mix of performance sailing and liveaboard comfort, and we were seriously impressed by how cleverly they’ve used every single inch of space. In this episode, we show you everything we loved most: • The massive forward sail locker (sailors are calling it a true “monster” — easily one of the best in class) • The brand-new integrated workshop/storage area (our absolute favourite — it easily fits tools, spares, washer/dryer, extra fridge or even ventilated produce storage) • The bright, spacious interior that feels way bigger than 45 ft • Clever storage solutions everywhere, ergonomic cockpit, walkaround decks and a layout that’s perfect for short-handed cruising or family adventures Reviewers and visitors at the show are raving about it being “practical, user-friendly, ergonomic and one of the best cruising boats in its class” — with thoughtful design that makes real-world sailing and living aboard so much easier. We really like this boat — it just feels right. What do you think — would the new Sun Odyssey 455 make your shortlist? During our visit to North Sails in Brisbane, we also sat down with Cure 55 client Michael who had flown in from the east coast of the US to look at the progress of his Cure 55 build. Michael talks through the extensive requirements that he and his partner have for a boat and what led them to choose the Cure 55 as the ultimate choice for a luxury catamaran. #curemarine #catamaran #catamarans #sailing #boating

Great work for turtle conservation and rehabilitation.
Ciguatera fish poisoning is caused by eating fish that have accumulated toxins produced by microscopic algae called Gambierdiscus. These toxins build up in older and larger predator reef fish such as barracuda, grouper, hogfish, jacks and snapper, as they consume the smaller herbivorous reef fish that have eaten the algae throughout their life. If a person eats a fish that contains a high quantity of ciga-toxins. They will experience a myriad of symptoms within 6-24hrs. This usually includes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and neurological issues like tingling, muscle weakness, joint pain or temperature reversal (hot things feel cold and vice versa). There is no specific cure, but the symptoms can be treated. And with time, a healthy diet, and eating no fish or seafood that could contain even a small amount of the ciga-toxin seems to be the best. The worst of the symptoms usually go away in a couple days, and all the symptoms are usually completely gone within a month. But this depends on the dose a person receives, and the individual them self. Currently, the toxin is undetectable by any means short of sending that fish into a laboratory. Meaning, you cannot smell it, a microscope just see it, you can't feel it, and there are no identifiable bio-markers in fish with it. The toxin does not affect the fish, but does harm humans & other mammals by attacking their nervous system. Gambierdiscus micro-algae only grows on coral in tropical regions. This is seen around the world, where symptoms can slightly vary depending on what region you get it in. Because of the different types of toxins that are produced by different species of Gambierdiscus. . . If you have any more information on this topic. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race arrived to a huge ceremony in Qingdao, China at the end of Stage 7. Qingdao, the Sailing City of China, hosted the sailing events of the 2008 Olympic Games, and has turned into a major sailing destination, hosting the 2025 Women’s ILCA 6 and Men’s ILCA 7 World Championships which attracted over 230 athletes from 40 nations. The city is known as one of China’s most beautiful, and Fushan Bay is backed by the Loashan Mountains, which makes for a spectacular view as the Clipper Fleet arrived at the conclusion of Stage 7. The crowds were out in force to welcome the fleet, especially Qingdao Clipper which is sponsored by the city. We take a look at the route the fleet took from Subic Bay, The Philippines, and I spoke with Qingdao Clipper Skipper Phil Quinn, GOSH First Mate Otto Kulow and Clipper Race Manager Hannah Brewis, talking about the leg, the welcome, and their first sight of the new Clipper RX yacht, while will be used in the next edition of the race. We then take a look at the overall leaderboard, where GOSH, the team representing the Great Ormond Street Hospital, maintain a huge lead of 37 points at the top, despite a time penalty changing their Stage 7 result from first to fourth, meaning Tongyeong was awarded the Stage win. The battle for second overall is really tight, with Team Scotland on 60 points, London Business School on 56 points and Yacht Club Punta del Este just a point further back in fourth. Things are just as tight between Power of Seattle Sports and Qingdao, with a single point separating them in fifth and sixth respectively. You can track the fleet on Stage 8 and beyond, and replay previous stages, via the excellent tracker at https://clipperroundtheworld.geovoile.com/2025/tracker/ #sailing #clipperrace #qingdao #offshoresailing
