Four teams that already knew how hard the task was going to be and four teams who came away from the last America’s Cup with pages of notes on how they would do things differently next time around. Anyone coming into the 37th Cup afresh would need to be playing a big game of catch up. But while Alinghi Red Bull Racing are one of those, having won the America's Cup twice before, the Swiss team has an impressive track record. For months, one question kept coming up: “Why don’t you use your skiff?” Well… today we finally answer that. After sitting untouched through an entire Southeast Alaska winter, our skiff hasn’t seen the water since we first brought it aboard the Alaskan Gypsy in Ketchikan. Snow, freezing temps, water in the battery, and plenty of neglect… not exactly ideal conditions for a smooth launch. But today? No wind. No snow. No excuses. So we: fire up the old two-stroke grease the jet unit (whatever that means 😅) drop the skiff for the first time in 9 months and attempt a full sea trial Will it run? Will it strand us? E' una barca a vela, che può essere non immatricolata e quindi natante; è una barca solida con lunghezza fuori tutto di 11,55 metri (inclusa la plancetta bagno), lunghezza al galleggiamento di 9,96 mt e una larghezza di 3,40. Ha uno scafo dalle forme moderne con una tuga dal design accattivante che dona luce e visibilità agli interni. La carena ha uno spigolo di poppa e l’armatore può scegliere la chiglia a L lunga o corta dal pescaggio, rispettivamente, di 1.95 o 1,50 metri (esiste anche la versione a chiglia corta). Gli interni si distinguono per il layout con due cabine doppie e un bagno dotato di doccia separato e accesso al vano storage di poppa e, un layout con 3 cabine ed un wc. I recently competed in my first ever official triathlon in London, entering the Super Sprint distance. The reason I chose the shorter race was because I’ve been dealing with a knee injury, so my main goal going into the event was simply to complete the race and take it easy on the run section if needed. My plan was to walk the run if the knee started complaining… But something surprising happened. The knee held up, I managed to run the entire run section without stopping, and when the results came in the outcome was far better than I expected. 🏊‍♂️ Swim 🚴‍♂️ Bike 🏃‍♂️ Run Final Result: 🥈 2nd Place Overall – Open Category 🥇 1st Place – Age Group For my first ever triathlon, I was absolutely thrilled with that result.
