Day One - At 1820hrs AEDT 26/12/23, Skipper Tony Mutter reflected on the start and the state of the weather on the Souther NSW coast.

"We’re visiting the rugged island state of Tasmania to ride from Hobart to Devonport. The Tasmanian trail follows gravel roads and single trails, with steep ascents and unforgiving rocky terrain. We quickly learned to expect the unexpected, as heavy rains had turned a section of the trail into a long, muddy swamp. Spirits were high as we rode through the centre of the wild state. This was the easiest section of the trail, where we even found some time to relax. By halfway, “Hike a bike” had become the new normal. The Tasmanian Trail is full of fun obstacles, wether thats a fallen tree or the flowing Mersey River. This trail taught us the real meaning of type 3 fun”
