Brief video of the free anchorage area at Dana Point. This is one of the calmest harbors on the west coast. It is very protected from both wind and waves, and is very pretty. As with all free anchorages, you sometimes end up next to a group that is less than desirable. We had a boat next to us that had about four adult males on it that got drunk and were loud until about 3, but aside from that, it was pleasant. We dropped lines in the water but did not catch anything. We had a few bites while trolling, but caught nothing. The LeisureCat 9000 Hardtop (LOA 9.95m / 32'6") has been chosen by many Police and Sea Rescue groups for its ability to handle tough conditions. LeisureCat Patrol craft can be customized to suit the individual requirements of the client. As can be seen here, a firefighting unit has been included in this craft built for the Jurien Bay Sea Rescue Group in Western Australia, home to a fleet of fishing and crayfishing boats as well as a fleet of recreational fishermen. Side cockpit doors can be incorporated in all models to allow ease of diver access or recovery from the water. There is a standard access door in the transom leading to a swim platform with dive ladder. The 9000 can be fitted with either inboard/stern-leg or outboard engines. However, the latest outboards have proven to be the engine of choice for their safety, lightness and ease of maintenance.

Começou na quarta feira (18 de maio de 2011) a visitação pública ao Farol da Barra, uma das principais atrações turísticas de Salvador. Ficará à disposição de quem quiser subir os 81 degraus para apreciar a vista de 360 graus que o farol proporciona e também conhecer de perto o cristal que oferece a luz, que guia embarcações chegando à cidade. A iluminação alcança 60 km.

Unfortunately, mishaps like this are not a very rare occurrence in the BVI's... this was just an extreme case and we happened to have the camera running from the onset. Still amazes me how many of these bareboat captains are completely unqualified to operate these vessels, yet the bareboat companies keep renting them out without proper screening... and this one damaged 6 boats in 45 minutes, 4 of them private vessels like ours.
