You couldn't have picked a worst week to go sailing! It was the middle of August but you needed both fleeces and coats if you wanted to keep warm and dry and it was blowing a F4-5 gusting 6 much of the time. Even the most die hard sailor would rather have just stayed at home but none of this stopped all the kids at this year's junior week having a fantastic time. It says a lot about the kids but even more about the club. Its a club that is run by its members for its members and the volunteers who took time out of there own lives to help teach these kids how to sail did the most amazing job. Elizabeth is one of those children who is just naturally scared of anything new to start with, and wasn't really sure what to expect. But even before the week had ended she had made sure that Mummy had it written into next years diary because she loved every minute of it and plans to come back again next year for more.

Competition could not have been closer for the opening fleet races of the RC44 Virgin Gorda Cup. The only consistent aspect of the day was the balmy 30°C temperature, with the wind speed having a far greater range than forecast, with two squalls passing through each bringing winds of up to 20 knots (and some rain) followed by 5 knots or less after. Similarly each of the four races had a different winner with Torbjörn Törnqvist's Artemis Racing coming out on top, with no score lower than fourth in the nine boat fleet, leaving the Swedish team two points ahead of the present fleet racing overall leader, Vladimir Prosikhin's Team Nika. This is the first of four days of fleet racing in the British Virgin islandsI at the end of which the RC44 Fleet Racing Champion will be crowned.

Perfect Pie Crust 1 1/4 cup butter 3 Cups Flour 1 teasp sea salt 1 egg 2 tablesp vinegar 3 1/2 tablesp water Roll our between 2 pieces of wax paper ~~~~~ Yummy Stuffing I had leftover organic olive bread and sour dough French bread that I cubed. About 3 cups, I'd guess. Fry 3/4 cup chopped celery, onion & mushrooms in butter. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and 3 tablespoons more butter. Pour over bread and stir. Add 1/2 cup dried cranberries. Stuff bird or place in a buttered baking dish and bake until ready. ~~~~~~ Yummy Mashed Red potatoes Clean red potatoes and dice with skins on. Boil until you can easily pierce with a fork. Drain and add milk, butter and parsley and mash. To make them tastier you can add sour cream, bacon bits, graded cheese, chives, garlic....OMGosh! DELICIOUS! ~~~~~ Angel Eggs Boiled eggs, cut in half and remove yoke. Add to yoke a good splash of pickle juice Miracle whip (sweeter than mayo) A squirt of mustard Sea salt & pepper to taste Garnish with olive slice ~~~~~~ For Thanksgiving leftovers, try layering your left overs in a baking dish and heat it up. OMG! Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole. Don't forget the cranberry sauce.

Technical dive through the Arch on the Southside of Elphinstone reef. Maximum depth was 65m, the Arch is at 60m. We had a mixed dive team, 2 CCR's (JJ and rEVO) and 1 Open Circuit Sidemount. The dive was facilitated by Red Sea Explorers and we were using their Suex DPV's.

After the morning squall American radios through to Jamie and invites him on a "Retrieve the Spear Diving Adventure". However Jamie manages to add to the confusion by first requiring an extra weight or two to help keep his slim body buoyant in the water and then dropping said weight to the sea bed 15m below, so now they're on a "Retrieve the Spear and Weight Diving Adventure". They make use of the mooring line and use it as a descent guide. Jamie is always slow to equalise so American waits at the bottom by the concrete block and immediately comes across an eel. With Jamie down, the pair make their way towards the first bombie that surrounds the rock face above water. They've have been down for almost 45 minutes so it's time to head back to the ascent line, but not before American retrieves his spear and that lost weight. Although most of the dive was only in 15m depth they do a controlled ascent anyway, taking their time to make their way back to American's boat, Synchronicity. Whilst the boys take a dive Alicia and Liz catch up on that beach that only reveals itself at low water. We put the world to rights. We spend ages on the shore chatting, as the warm water laps around us. We're awoken from our calm by some action in the water. Having found his spear, American has been putting it to good use. We talk about the Trash Hero project we came across on Koh Lipe, where local and tourists get together to clean the beaches and donate the rubbish to recycling projects around Thailand. It turns out that Alicia is involved in a similar project back in the States with the Teeki brand of active wear. Today has been an extraordinary day, from anchoring among nesting birds close to the rockfaces, seeing off squalls, diving among the many coral reefs and chatting on the shore, Koh Hah Yai will goes down as one of our favourite anchorages of all time. Una sfida tecnologica, ma anche sociale visto che è il frutto della collaborazione con Lisca Bianca. Un progetto di inclusione sociale che coinvolge persone svantaggiate nel recupero di una barca. Fare per includere. Anche grazie a Fab Lab che è il laboratorio tecnologico dove si usano le stampanti 3 D.
