As our vacation days ran low, we had to motor 25 miles to get back to Wahweap. We ended with some fantastic sailing in Wahweap Bay! We had reserved a slip at the marina for our final night on the water to enjoy a meal at the marina's restaurant after hot showers and partial de-rigging. We explore St Lucia and Martinique with friends after recovering from our Atlantic crossing.

After 3 weeks in St Martin we decided the time had come to do the jump and sail to the British Virgin Islands! We motor-sailed the 80 miles, leaving in the evening and arriving the following morning. The unfortunate crew of Volvo Open 70, Green Dragon, are looking for crewing opportunities for the Heineken St Maarten Regatta that starts tomorrow. None of the crew, who all hail from Sopot YC in Poland, were hurt. Green Dragon placed 5th overall in the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race, coming in 3rd at the Galway, Ireland stopover to the huge delight of the crowds that stayed out until 4am to welcome their boat home.

After our recovery from the mighty Thames, we left Limehouse Basin and headed on to the Regent's Canal, a 9 mile waterway winding through the heart of King's Cross. Then we turned onto the Hertford Union Canal or Puckett's Canal, a mile of canal in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London. Then north on the River Lee.
