Day 4-5: We pick up friends in Vero Beach for a day cruise to Stuart. A night stay at Loggerhead marina gave us time to do laundry and provision as we waited out the rain. Unfortunately, it never let up. Embracing the rain, we trek on towards Jupiter where we anchor out for the night and dinghy over to one of our fav restaurants, Guanabanas, for some late night tacos. Day 6: Cruising South, we picnic at Peanut Island and watch the solar eclipse. We also run into MJ Sailing at anchor and meet them for the first time. We've been watching their YouTube videos for a year as they refit their sailboat. We continue on to our next anchorage at Lake Boca and visit with our sweet cousin Chloe. John and Vonda are two of the nicest people we have met. They met us at the entrance with a 35x35 inch piece of green indoor-outdoor carpet to place at the bottom of our RV steps. And helped us to get into our site. By that I mean they guided while we backed in. They spend the extra time to make sure you are set up the way you want. John has full time RV-ed several times and otherwise camped a lot. He and Vonda were full-timing when they decided it was time to follow the campground dream. They know what they would like to see in a campground and is doing just that in this one. They are equally passionate about making your stay a very memorable one. They cater to any size RV with 8 back in sites and 15 pull through sites. Full hookups at each site. (they do not cater to tent camping) Members of Passport America, Escapees and Happy Camper will receive the customary discounts. Watching the video, you most likely saw the piles of gravel. They are adding gravel to the sites, which are already are hard packed, to get them more level. Very easy on and off from Interstate 10 and Hwy 231. Exit 130. There is plenty of things for kids and adults alike. Lawn games and area attractions. There is a private fishing pond where no license is needed to enjoy throwing in a line (or two). In it are Large-mouth Bass, Catfish and Brim. (brim is bluegill sunfish) One thing I have never seen is horse corrals so travelers with horses can get the horses out of the trailer to stretch and graze on the grass. The corrals have electric fencing so a spooked horse won’t get out. There is an open corral, round pen and fields of grass for grazing. No charge for your horses John and Vonda are constantly tending to their dream. Updating as time allows. Hitchin Post Corral and Campground RV Park is a great place to overnight while in route as well because of its proximity to two major highways. We spent four nights and loved it. As I was about to manouver into my harbour to moore up, a big rope got jammed in my propeller and ended up dragging my whole engine off its suspension. That take some powers, never heard about it..! On this episode of Sailing Vessel Triteia I attempt to remove the fuel tank. The intake fitting was put on after the tank was installed and unfortunately the fitting is made of steel and the tank is made of aluminum so galvanic corrosion had done its job and completely fused the two dissimilar metals together. I tried to get the fitting off several times with no luck and in this video you will see my third and final attempt. I was weary about cutting to much off because I wanted enough metal for the hose clamps to be able to their job, all of this made for a frustrating day but in the end I got the job done.
