On this episode of Sailing Vessel Triteia I attempt to remove the fuel tank. The intake fitting was put on after the tank was installed and unfortunately the fitting is made of steel and the tank is made of aluminum so galvanic corrosion had done its job and completely fused the two dissimilar metals together. I tried to get the fitting off several times with no luck and in this video you will see my third and final attempt. I was weary about cutting to much off because I wanted enough metal for the hose clamps to be able to their job, all of this made for a frustrating day but in the end I got the job done. Maintenance with Matthew In this short video Matt shows you how we take apart our Windlass and service it. Our windlass is a very important part of our sailing, as we mostly anchor, and without it would mean needing to haul it up and down by hand. Now and again when the anchor drags up too much weed and mud it jams up the windlass, making it hard to let out the chain when we need to. We tend to service it once every month, but since leaving Scotland we don't normally have too much weed as we mainly anchor in sand. ** NOW SOLD ** Jeanneau 39DS – Allunga Now exclusively for sale with Yoti Queensland Allunga is a 2010 build launched 2011 Jeanneau 39DS. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/jeanneau-39ds-allunga The Jeanneau 39 DS is a lot of boat, its raised coach roof creates a sense of spaciousness, and its large ports contribute plenty of light. Rather than try to cram a second head into the boat, the builders put one head amidships and added the extra room to the forward and aft cabins. The saloon features a big dinette with wraparound seating for six on the starboard side, opposite a settee. Both seats are straight and good for lounging and enjoying the warm teak woodwork. Allunga has a two-cabin layout, with a separate head and shower. The cockpit is big and well set up, there is a dodger and Bimini with an infill sheet. The twin wheels allow the helmsman to get well outboard with a good view of the sails, and the primary winches are immediately forward of the wheels so the driver can trim the jib. Allunga is in excellent condition, and fully equipped, and even includes great little comforts such as Air Conditioning and a Bow Thruster, the Yanmar Diesel has only done 640 hrs.
