Le duo aura mis 14 jours 01h 31mn et 44s pour parcourir les 4 350 milles théoriques depuis Le Havre à la vitesse moyenne de 12,91 nœuds, mais il a réellement parcouru 4 714 milles à 13,96 nœuds. Son écart au premier St Michel-Virbac est de 17h 54mn 58s. Morgan et Eric n’ont rien lâché sur cette Route du Café toujours positionnés dans le tiercé de tête. La bagarre entre SMA, St Michel-Virbac, Malizia II et Des Voiles et Vous ! a débuté dès la ligne de départ devant le Havre le 5 novembre dernier. Rapide et engagé, le début de course demandait de prendre le tempo dès le coup de canon, c’est ce qu’on fait les deux skippers de Des Voiles et Vous ! en prenant la première place dans les conditions dantesques après le passage du raz Blanchard : 30 nœuds de vent à contre-courant. Au passage du front, le tandem colle au train de SMA en deuxième position cravachant pour ne pas perdre du terrain. La suite verra un St Michel-Virbac en patron chassé par SMA et des Voiles et Vous !. Malgré un Pot au noir à risque, Morgan Lagravière et Eric Peron sont parvenus à tirer leur épingle du jeu. Le bonheur de naviguer ensemble a transpiré tout au long de cette Transat Jacques Vabre, et l’on sait que quand le plaisir est là, la réussite n’est jamais très loin ! Ce dimanche 19 novembre, à 03h 33mn 03s, Paul Meilhat et Gwénolé Gahinet ont franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 13e édition de la Transat Jacques Vabre en deuxième position de la catégorie Imoca. Le duo aura mis 13 jours 13h 58mn et 03s pour parcourir les 4 350 milles théoriques depuis Le Havre à la vitesse moyenne de 13,36 nœuds, mais il a réellement parcouru 4 600 milles à 14,11 nœuds. Son écart au premier St Michel – Virbac est de 06h 21mn 17s. Aux vacations, ils disaient souvent « avoir les crocs » et ils les ont montrés ! Paul Meilhat et Gwénolé Gahinet étaient souvent cités au départ parmi les favoris. Ils auront été les plus dangereux concurrents de St Michel-Virbac tout au long de cette 13e Transat Jacques Vabre. En tête pendant quelques heures après le départ, ils sont toujours restés accrochés au sillage du vainqueur, soignant leur trajectoire et tirant le meilleur de leur Imoca sans foil. Ils terminent 06h 21mn 17s derrière St Michel-Virbac, un écart pas forcément représentatif de la menace permanente qu’ils ont fait peser sur Jean-Pierre Dick et Yann Eliès qui leur rendaient hommage hier soir. Offensifs durant toute la descente de l’Atlantique nord, ils pointaient encore à 32 milles et les inquiétaient à l’entrée du Pot au noir. Ils signent à Salvador de Bahia une très belle performance, preuve d’une grande maîtrise de leur support, d’une entente parfaite et d’une vraie joie de naviguer au large en duo. Ce samedi 18 novembre, à 21h 11mn 46s, Jean-Pierre Dick et Yann Eliès ont franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 13e édition de la Transat Jacques Vabre en première position de la catégorie Imoca. Le duo aura mis 13 jours 07h 36mn et 46s pour parcourir les 4 350 milles théoriques depuis Le Havre à la vitesse moyenne de 13,63 nœuds, mais il a réellement parcouru 4652 milles à 14,55 nœuds. Et de quatre ! A 52 ans, Jean-Pierre Dick s’offre une 4e victoire sur la Transat Jacques Vabre. Une première dans l’histoire de la Route du Café. Cet as de la course en double avait fait appel à Yann Eliès sitôt le Vendée Globe bouclé afin de s’aligner au départ du Havre archi préparé. Ils étaient 6 Imoca à pouvoir l’emporter, la course s’annonçait difficile et c’est bien ce que l’on doit retenir de cette 13e édition. Une victoire certes, mais ô combien méritée face à des équipages affûtés et diablement accrocheurs, et un SMA toujours aux aguets. Trajectoire parfaite, maîtrise spectaculaire des chausse-trappes de la météo et du parcours, symbiose entre les deux hommes, foiler huilé par une équipe à terre de haute voltige, tous les paramètres étaient réunis pour l’emporter. Traveling to Italy to pick up the Seahorse 2.0 at Windkinetic ⛵️😊👌. Unfortunately the trip exhausts me and I end up in a cold wet boat. Don't have them often but this is one of my off days 🙈 But hey, would we appreciate the sun as much if it never rains?

We begin settling in to the cruising lifestyle. Bayona is a charming town with lots to do, so we get to it, taking a walking tour and also visiting the castle. This posting is more about the town and less about sailing. We'll alternate episodes between getting places, being in places, and maintenance tasks as there seems to be interests in all three.

We visit the Hatteras Lighthouse and check out the nearby beach. Then we inbox the generator and fire it up in the slip for the first time! We use it quite a bit as we frigidly sail over to Oriental, North Carolina. The next morning is too cold to go on shore, so we fire up the Dickinson heater for a cozy day on the boat. WIDER 165 Superyacht - Under Construction! The videos I have produced about the WIDER Superyachts have accrued hundreds of thousands of views. Not only are they very attractive looking yachts, but they also offer a high degree of technological innovation. With the WIDER 165 under construction and a delivery foreseen for next summer I thought an on-site progress report would be interesting for my viewers.
