MSY ASTARTE : Luxury classic schooner for charter in Greece : History : The story of the Astarte schooner is linked to the famous Greek ship-owner John S. Latsis and his famous guests, including Prince Charles of England, Princess Diana, President George Bush, the Saudi royal family and actor Marlon Brando. Ranked among the top twelve richest men of all time by Forbes Magazine, John S. Latsis loved the sea and beautiful boats. In the early 1960s, he commissioned a classic yacht to be built in exotic wood from the Psaros shipyard, a signature supplier in Greece several of whose nautical achievements are still plying the Aegean Sea and have been the pride of their owners for generations already. John S. Latsis took possession of the Alcyone in 1964, a schooner with immaculate, elegant lines, spacious and pleasant to live in and exciting to sail. He nicknamed it "my beloved beauty" and enjoyed playing host on his boat to the elite of his day. Today the Alcyone has been rename the Astarte and is dedicated to sea-lovers as a cruising yacht. The new owners have retained the classic charm of old sailing vessels built from warm, noble wood while providing the most up-to-date equipment and facilities. In this way, shipboard guests can benefit from a maximum of comfort and safety. MORE INFOS : http://yacht-charter-gulet.com/boat.php?ID=454

Security on Sailboats-Sailboat Burglar Alarms DIY (Theft Prevention) for less than $10 (budget ideas) Stop theft on sailboats! These are some low budget sailboat alarms or thief deterrants to keep thieves away from sailboats and make things more secure. Sailboat Security Systems are sometimes hard to come by when you need them most, in remote islands where you suddenly find out that sailboats are being targeted for petty theft or for break ins. So you need to build your own boat alarm system To deter thieves... When we were in the Marshall Islands, and had to leave our boat to fly home, we knew we would be broken in to. We had no access to fancy burglar alarms or security systems for sailboats, on short notice, and had to leave the boat. So we devised our own sailboat burglar alarm, out of rat traps or mouse traps, threads, and a loud siren from the local police station. It worked. We were the first boat to not be broken in to after 11 prior break ins! Patrick shows you exactly how to build the same Low budget, low material burglar alarm for your own boat. He has a few other sailboat thief deterrents for your too! Please, start your Amazon shopping here: https://amzn.to/2K9MmuA September 2019 UPDATE: Brick House has decided to get a REAL high tech security system to protect from theft: Here is the system we have decided on: a modified GOST NT Evolution 2.0 from http://www.GOST.com. But the ideas for diy alarms in this video will still be used as another layer of security for our sailboat. What an island! Palm trees a plenty, gentle sea breezes and full time Bikinis! This place is next level! https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we are anchored at the beautiful Liapari island. This small island is off the southern tip of Vella Lavella island in the Northern area of the Solomon islands. We had always planned to visit the lagoon of Liapari island as we had read about the safety of the anchorage and that this place is basically the only place where we could get things repaired in the Solomons. But when we went exploring, this island uncovered some magical places that we would struggle to dream up in our own minds! Enjoy!!! Patrons! Meet Tuomas and Anna. Their lives fit in two 7kg backpacks. But their world is limitless. They are joining me on Family Circus to help get her ready to sail and then sail her with me to Tonga. We went to the boat together for the first time yesterday and they've already been an incredible help. Thank you guys! This is the first video I've made about another person (people) and I was really excited to make it! Sorry Tuomas for spelling your name wrong in the subtitles. The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an around the world adventure that changed our lives. In this episode I finally purchase a sailboat. After a close inspection, survey and water trial, the search is over. Sunburst is a 1971 Chris Craft Caribbean 35 motor sailer sloop rig designed for ocean crossings. Hand laid thick fiberglass hull with a full keel, skeg mounted rudder and a 54 horsepower 4 cylinder Yanmar diesel engine. It holds 100 gallons of fresh water, 80 gallons of diesel fuel. Dual cabins and a full galley with all the extras This is the perfect yacht (within my price range) for sailing the world.
