After debating whether to sail to Newport or Avalon, we settle on Avalon. Winds were slightly better than expected to Avalon. We enjoyed watching a hulu show in town and snorkeling in the harbor.

Ep 98 | Marble Brewery Tour, Albuquerque, Route 66 USA, Vlog of Life in a Nutshell RV travels. We pop into the Marble Brewery and are just in time for a tour. The brewery was on a much larger scale than our tour of the Angry Goat Brewery in Costa Rica which started its life as a garage setup. The tour gave us an insight into the machinery and systems of a larger brewery. We hope you enjoy this video of the tour. EXTENDED TRAILER... The Last Sailors chronicles the working sailing craft still underway in the last decades of the twentieth century. 3-part 2.5 hours. Now available with SAILFLIX, our new video subscription service featuring contemporary and classic sailing documentaries and how-to videos. See The Last Sailors 3-part series at https://www.sailflix.com/the-last-sailors-the-final-days-of-working-sail Also Stream and download with Vimeo On Demand... https://vimeo.com/ondemand/thelastsailors Orson Welles' narration brings gives the script the gravitas this subject deserves, as most of these sailors and their craft have now vanished forever. To make this documentary series, Director Neil Hollander sailed a ten-meter sailboat nearly 25,000 miles over three years to isolated locales around the world. He filmed in 15 countries, meeting and working alongside men who still earned their livings from the sea in the old traditions of sail. He later wrote a book of the same title recalling his experiences with eight surviving sailing craft, all representative of distinct cultures or geographic locations. “Magnificent footage of the beauty of the sea and the splendid geometry of sail." - New York Times

Sailing on "Sally" a beautiful 10 meter built in 1928. She has been rebuilt in San Diego at Koehler yard. Her rich history, seasoned captain and crew that includes 2 dogs is what truly makes her soul sing through the sea.
A special episode featuring a boat tour of the J42, Sailing Vessel Thylacine. Captain Noah Peffer walks us through Thylacine and her features and some of his plans as he and his wife Alex prepare for full-time cruising in the very near future. Noah Peffer is an educator at the University of Southern California... I stole the below text from their website. Captain Noah Peffer, Lecturer and Vessel Captain Captain Peffer Graduated from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston with a two bachelors in Art and Education in 2000 and promptly moved to Los Angeles. In 2005 he completed a graduate degree in art at Cal Arts and has been working as a conceptual artist, carpenter, fabricator and teacher in Los Angeles for the past decade. Captain Peffer grew up sailing the East Coast and Bahamas on the David Stevens schooner Sarah Abbott (sister ship to Atlantas!) with his family. The son of a wooden boat owner he was raised in and around boatyards and developed an interest in traditional sailing craft while simultaneously racing on everything from 420’s, to Shields, to Schooners, to ocean racing ULDB’s. Captain Peffer has cruised in many parts of the world but always returns to Southern California. He is also a Lecturer at Cal State University Long Beach in the Wood Department. Follow SV Thylacine on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/svthylacine There is a VERY special episode of "A STERN VIEW PODCAST" this week corresponding with this video episode. On New Years Eve I interviewed Alex and Noah onboard Thylacine while on a mooring at Cat Harbor about their time cruising the Sea of Cortez in 2009. The Tula Shop - http://tulasendlesssummer.com/shop-tula/ Here’s a good day in the life of sailing through the Bahamas on a Catamaran video. We generally wake up in a relatively secluded anchorage and take our time having coffee and exploring the area before setting sail (as long as we aren’t going too far). Sometimes we leave early and get to our new sport early then explore. You generally don’t want to arrive in a harbor in the Bahamas in low-light because it can be impossible to see the reefs but Nassau Harbor entrance is well marked, deep, and we are familiar with it. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

Coppa Italia Finn 2018, tappa 3 Scarlino, 12-13 maggio. Sequenze dalla prova 3, limitate alla zona bassa del campo di regata.
At the RC44 Portoroz Cup, it all came down to the final top mark rounding of the final race: Team CEEREF of local host Igor Lah picked up a penalty and, having to complete a mandatory turn, dropped her to last place. Meanwhile a second place in this race for Team Aqua allowed Chris Bake’s team to clinch victory overall by just one point from Team CEEREF on this Slovenian stop of the 2018 RC44 circuit, despite their having come last in today’s first two races. In fact the top four boats all finished within two points here, with Aleph Racing and Peninsula Petroleum putting in strong final day performances leaving them tied on points in third and fourth respectively. The RC44 Portoroz Cup 9 May until 13 May is the second event of the RC44 Championship Tour which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. #27 Et voilà un départ! On part vers Spanish Wells! Building a cruising sailboat I start to plank the hull with the first layer of 10mm plywood planking. The ply pieces are glassed and epoxied with a light cloth on the inside to seal them and then epoxied and bronze ring nail nailed to the framework. In this video, the first layer of the bottom planking is completed (there will be 3 layers). Music tracks "Sit and Wonder" and "The Great Divide" available on iTunes, Amazon etc. EP "Shake a Leg" and album "Out of the Moloch" All music from these videos is available from: https://ynotb.bandcamp.com/album/the-sv-tapatya-tracks If you like what you see, leave a tip in the Tips Jar ;http://www.svtapatya.com/the-tips-jar.html Follow the build, along with the story of my first cruising adventure (The Miss Molly I Adventures) on my website; http://www.svtapatya.com Support the build, the vlog, the blog and the writing on; https://www.patreon.com/sv_tapatya Or follow me on Instagram for various shots of my boating life; https://www.instagram.com/sv.tapatya This is the story of my building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk-rigged, schooner dory. The boat utilises a hard-chined, plywood construction and this design of boat is a proven, capable, ocean-going vessel. Boat building with plywood is a relatively easy and cost-effective way to produce a strong, monocoque-style boat hull. These videos aim to show the way in which I go about it. Thank you! Tony

Installed the Seaflo bilge pump and the first day of testing in our boat and we love it. May get another one just to have a spare in the bilge, at $29 it does not cost much. Danielle's biggest fears on the ocean are sinking and sharks, this pumps water out of the boat faster than a water hose can put it in. By the way, my biggest fear of the ocean is seasickness and other people's carelessness. In this video, we fill the bilge of our Bayliner Bowrider 175 boat with water and then pump it out, the flow of water out of the boat was amazing. The pump had a mild hum so you could tell it was working if you did not see the huge flow of the water out of the boat. This was the highest flow pump we could get, at 750gph without having to go to a larger hose pumped into the boat. Follow along as we breath new life into this 2004 Bayliner Bowrider 175. We share our TOP 10 REGRETS for our low budget #Campervan build. #Vanlife #Overland When we first bought our Toyota Liteace it was May 10th 2017 and we began it's conversion around this time last year. We didn't really know what we were doing because it was our first Van Conversion - but we had watched enough videos on YouTube to give it our best. So we've been using our Campervan for a year since then and have come to realise through experience that in order for us to drive it our of Malaysia, some necessary changes have to be made. In this video, we address the changes - Support our video production on a Crowdfunding Platform Patreon PATREON : https://www.patreon.com/24HourTravellers THANK YOU for the support, we are a self funded channel & your help contributes to making our videos. Today we just want to play! We are anchored at Little Cistren Cay in The Bahamas and wanted to take the dinghy a mile away to a large sand spit that is only visible during low tide, to fly our DJI Phantom 3 Advanced Drone. The sand spit is located on the south end of Little Hawksbill Cay in the Exumas and is incredibly HUGE!! We couldn't even get it all in one shot. Later that night we were surprised by loud booms and bright flashing lights. Once on deck we found that the large yacht that anchored on the other side of the island from us earlier in the day was setting of impressive fireworks! It was a perfect ending to our fun adventurous day! The next morning we pulled up anchor and set sail heading further south in the Exumas. Our plan was to get a mooring ball at Warderick Wells where we were hoping to use the internet. The ocean swells coming into the anchorage were unbearable! It was hard to even stand up in the boat, let alone try to mount the outboard onto the dinghy. At this point during the day, we were both tired and hungry (never a good combination) and the swells certainly weren't helping! We decided to move to the south end of the Island and try to anchor at Hog Cay, but found that the entrance to the channel only had 4' of water with a marked sand bank on the charts. We didn't want to chance it with our 5' keel, so we continued on further south till we got to Cambridge Cay. Unfortunately we did not film anything after leaving Warderick Wells, due to our moods not being in the brightest of spirits, but tomorrow is a new day and we can't wait to show you what fun adventures we have next while at Cambridge Cay! *********************************************************************** THANK YOU for watching our videos and for SUBSCRIBING to our YouTube channel!
