This was the most magical experience! The kids' Grammy and Grampy surprised them once we got down to their Uncle's house with a trip to Disneyland. They thought we were going to my brother's house for Thanksgiving with the family up until the day before we left for the park. This was the first time all of us had been there when Disneyland was decorated for Christmas. I highly recommend it. Even Thanksgiving was incredible. Our wonderful sunset cruises go out every night. We leave 1-2 hours before sunset and the trip takes you out onto the lake for an incredible view of the sun setting behind the city. Sometimes you mess up and it works out for the best. Fortunately for me and Mamadu, I messed up for a better passage. We left early in the morning and about 3 hours into the journey we had to turn around. Why? You'll have to watch to find out. Once we were finally sailing, we had perfect conditions and averaged about 7 knots which got us into Mindelo earlier than I expected. How did we turn our sailing yacht into a canal boat for our journey through the french canals? This week we demonstrate the process of preparing our Southerly 38 for the french canals. We had to build a frame for transporting the mast, take down the boom, sails and wind generator, and make everything ready for unstepping the mast on the Mediterranean side of France, in preparation for entering the Canal du Midi.
